The game is hard and frustrating beacuse of the controls
The "mountain" is really dificult to climb but the hardest part of the game is to controll the character.

I almost never can move him properly or controll the hammer the way I intended beacuse the controls are so slow and unresponsive.

I've been playing just a few minutes and I can't quite say why they are so bad but they just feel wrong, the way the hammer and the mouse move doesn't seems to sync or something

I just got the game and I am already doing pretty well but I am not a pro with it heres a tip "Keep climbing soon using the hammer will be a breeze"

I actually felt quite the opposite, controls are hard in qwop, here they're just fine and the mountain itself is hard to scale.

The whole point of the game is that you go through the struggle of learning how to hike.
Similar concept as Qwop.

Battling and figuring the controls is a big part of the game.

you cant battle controls that literally punish you for everything you do.
the controls are NOT smooth. you cannot do things consistantly at all as you would in qwop.
the controls are buggy and sometimes just launches you off when you move your mouse a pixel (happened to me on stream)
the dude is buggy too! for me he moves by himself when i touch my mouse even the slightest which makes it almost impossible to do anything consistantly (again)
and look at this https://clips.twitch.tv/AbrasiveProtectiveBaguetteOpieOP
that should not happen in a game like this

All I saw in that clip is you foolishly hit escape while your mouse was directed against the mountain. What exactly did you expect to happen? lmao.

The controls are fine and work as intended. Bennet even narrates about their difficulty later on in the game.
If they were any easier then this game wouldn't be the success that it i, so you can have your opinion while sales prove otherwise.

concept = good
execution = bad

Considering I can beat it every time in under 15 minutes I'd have to say myth busted. Get good, then you'll see it's extremely consistent, much more than QWOP.

actually the game gives you great control over the character. you have to learn how to deal with the momentum of the couldron, learning that you get more grip if you move slower.
you just need some willpower and a reasonable mouse
that clip just shows that you shouldnt go to the menu when you're in a tight spot.

My dude, turn on Trackpad Tuning and everything will be fine. Controls are actually great, but it defaults to Mouse Acceleration being on, which I think was a bad call. Trackpad tuning turns it off and it will no longer feel sluggish, if anything you'll have to crank down your mouse sensitivity a lot to avoid wildly swinging the hammer around.

oh and @JohannesPohl, the glitch where the mouse moves randomly after using the menu has been fixed, thankfully. That was definitely a pain in the ♥♥♥♥. Beyond that I can't agree with you except to give you the same advice I gave above -- turn on Trackpad Tuning.

Only issue is the camera affecting the position of the hammer.

Otehr than that the controls dont take long to get used to.

I am a master of controlling the hammer. I am, however, a novice at predicting what will happen as a consequence of moving said hammer.

Once you've mastered the game, it's fun and enjoyable because of the controls. Really, it's just about getting over it.
