Similar concept as Qwop.
Battling and figuring the controls is a big part of the game.
the controls are NOT smooth. you cannot do things consistantly at all as you would in qwop.
the controls are buggy and sometimes just launches you off when you move your mouse a pixel (happened to me on stream)
the dude is buggy too! for me he moves by himself when i touch my mouse even the slightest which makes it almost impossible to do anything consistantly (again)
and look at this https://clips.twitch.tv/AbrasiveProtectiveBaguetteOpieOP
that should not happen in a game like this
The controls are fine and work as intended. Bennet even narrates about their difficulty later on in the game.
If they were any easier then this game wouldn't be the success that it i, so you can have your opinion while sales prove otherwise.
execution = bad
you just need some willpower and a reasonable mouse
that clip just shows that you shouldnt go to the menu when you're in a tight spot.
oh and @JohannesPohl, the glitch where the mouse moves randomly after using the menu has been fixed, thankfully. That was definitely a pain in the ♥♥♥♥. Beyond that I can't agree with you except to give you the same advice I gave above -- turn on Trackpad Tuning.
Otehr than that the controls dont take long to get used to.
