Oh huh, ok I will look into it. Thanks for this report - I did test on a 21:9 monitor but it was a long time ago and something may have changed.

In the meantime you can probably change how your 21:9 monitor deals with lower resolutions by using the picture setting in the monitor menus.

Ok I checked on our 21:9 monitor and it's ok on Windows (by design it should letterbox rather than use the full width of the monitor). Is there any chance you're on a Mac?

I'm not on a mac, and I tried switching to windowed so that I could manually scale it in an attempt to see the rest of the screen. It would be nice to have a 2560x1080 setting, or just have black bars on the sides. Thank you for the quick reply!

Thin you could look into dual monitors? For some reason I cant get it to display on both, with nvida surroundsound

I have the 21:9 issue as well this is what it looks like.

Fuel, thanks a lot for that screenshot. It's weird that it shows up as 1920x1080, which is 16:9 rather than 21:9. Seems like your graphics card is reporting the wrong resolution. I really don't know what to do about that, since if the engine doesn't detect the resolution i can't automatically lay the game out for 21:9

Speaking of which, it'll be super hard to do a 21:9 layout for this game, since i'd need to make extra mountain all over the place so you don't just see empty space. I'll do some experiments at least to see if I can reproduce the issue.

I second Fuels screenshot. Windowed mode and full screen show up the same. It seems to be a forced issue. I might try uninstalling and reinstalling.

It actually works correctly after starting the game, for me anyways, but something triggers it to screw up the UI scaling after a while, i don't know if it's alt tabbing or playing the game and returning to the menu

managing to press apply fixes it again

21:9 is broken and gets sometimes applied while playing with the resolutions ingame: Despite no 21:9 resolution being available some kind of bug causes the game to just fill the screen in the native 21:9 resolution of your monitor.

This happened to me as well. If you run into this issue, you have to modify the game settings manually as applying a correct resolution ingame will no longer be possible:
For windows user, its located in your registry under "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Bennett Foddy\Getting Over It\" and for the linux folks among us, under "/steamapps/compatdata/240720/pfx/"

What you want to do is the following, set ResolutionHeight_*, ResolutionWidth_* to a 16:9 resolution (e.g. 1920x1080 for 2560x1080, 2560x1440 for 3440x1440 and so on), while you set "NativeHeight_*" and "NativeWidth_*" as well as "Screenmanager Resolution Height_*" and "Screenmanager Resolution Width_*" to your monitors native 21:9 resolution.

That way you have the game letteredboxed with black bars on the left and right, running at the games native resolution.

@bennett,
I hope you can fix this issue

I have a fix for this issue that I'll post this week.

Is that fix still coming?

See the sticky post - I posted a build on the testing branch, just waiting to hear if it's ok before putting it on the main branch. You can go to the 'betas' tab and enter password 'nakedmaninapot'.

Please let me know if this works for you! I only have one 21:9 monitor to test on, so I want to hear from more users before I set it live on the main branch.

just tested it. swtiching to 21:9 works fine and no more cut off menu! No 21:9 gameplay tho, which is sad :-(

Upon the first start, for some reason the mountain in the main menu was missing and only the hammer appeared... upon restart it was there. couldnt manage to replicate this again tho.

I KNOW HOW TO DO IT (ITS EASY):
Type in your windows Search bar, "Change the resolution of the display"
Click the system settings "Change the resolution of the display" option that appears.
Under "Display resolution" select "1920 x 1080"
Press "Keep Changes"
On Getting Over It, press escape for the settings menu.
Then, on "Resolution" select 1920 x 1080 on any of the Hz values and press APPLY
Then, on Getting Over It again, select 2560 x 1080 on the highest Hz (Refresh rate) possible and click apply.
Then, go back to the Windows Display Settings menu and under "Display Resolution" again, select 2560 x 1080 and "Keep Changes"
Go back to Getting Over It. It should be working. Hope this helped :)
