WASD is standard. Why are you trying to play the game with arrow keys or an Xbox controller?

I use the arrow keys as I use the mouse with my left hand. I'm right handed but have always played games this way.

That sucks that you can't get it to work correctly, but I would suggest unplugging the controller completely, and just use mouse and keyboard until they get better controller support. Good luck whatever you decide.👍
