This Game Might Be Cooked

I play Bodycam about 10/12 hours each day since launch. After dumping over 570+ hours into this game and basically treating it as a full-time job in order to maintain the #1 spot on the leaderboard, a Chinese hacker managed to boost past me in about 72 hours. The devs don’t even care.

The problem is, for some reason the devs allow players to gain points in PRIVATE lobbies. WHY IS THAT A THING!?

So, the leaderboard point system is 300 points per win or -50 points for a loss. The Chinese hacker is able to make 1,100 points in the amount of time it takes anyone else to finish a single match… it’s literally impossible to finish 4 matches that quickly. I will also mention that no one has ever seen this guy playing in a public lobby… ever. He’s obviously sitting in a private lobby abusing the system.

I reached out to the official manager and explained how the hacker’s points are going up by an impossible amount (thousands every 10 minutes). I asked if they can keep an eye on their profile and calculate the points to make a determination. The response was basically “if players provide video proof, I’ll reset his profile”. Very dry response and then he went ghost on me when I followed up with more questions.

How are we supposed to provide video evidence of someone boosting in their own private lobby? ANYONE who has played the game for a week or so can look at the leaderboard throughout the day and calculate the points and see this is blatant cheating. Why is the staff unable to do the same? What proof do you need of something that is impossible!?

I am frustrated and exhausted. The competitive element of the game is ruined for myself and many others. How is the game going to grow its player base or even sustain the current player base when the devs are allowing cheaters to run rampant on the board?

Rant over. Back to playing Bodycam because I hate myself.

Update: Reissad has banned the cheater. Peace has been restored to the galaxy.

Everyoine meming you put aside, the fact that this is even a conversation is kind of sad.

Since the 90's we've had simple logic checks that don't need elaborate anti cheats to work, or anti cheats at all.

It's most likely just like old Treyarch devs back when I used to grind on Zombies leaderboards, where they just don't care enough lol. Be cool if they did, maybe after they add some ranking other than leaderboards or a leaderboards reset of some type.

Civilization was released EIGHT YEARS ago. That's an average of 20 minutes a day. And I play OTHER games and have OTHER interests and have NEVER felt my identity was being threatened by someone eclipsing my video game top-score.

Assuming you sleep for 8 hours a day, you dedicate a full 75% of your conscience existence to doing nothing but playing Bodycam.

No amount of stalking my profile will erase the absolute miserable state of existence you clearly live in. And for that I pity you. Why you're so angry about someone feeling sorry for you for dedicating 75% of the last 2 months of your life to doing a single task is beyond me. But in Bodycam I truly hope you find meaning for your life. Honestly, I do.
