it's a nich game with an actual skill celling.
I will admit the movement system is very different to that of every other shooter out there and it's not going to be fun and intuitive for everyone and that's totally cool, I respect that so it was always going to lose a ton of players.
Look at Mordhau for instance, another nich game that probably was mostly played by the old Chivalry sweatlords so that had a massive player drop very quickly that released with 60,000 people ish playing it and in less than a 3 years or circa dropped to only 8,000 people.
Similar with this game, did well because it was fresh with a new idea for shooters, people didn't like the movement system and left, and that's totally cool because I do admit the movement and aiming system is DRAMATICALLY different to any other shooter out there so the game was never gonna retain a lot of players.
There'll always be people like with Mordhau will continue playing this game enough so that there'll be games to be had at least.
