Feels impossible to get R points

I've played for over 5 hours and i've only acquired 2000 R points. I want to buy stuff in the shop to make my character look less lame, but I can't afford anything because all the items are super expensive. Does anyone know a way to gain lots of R points, or is the only way by painstakingly getting kills?

The easiest method to earn R points is playing deatmatches. You also get more points in different game modes, if your team is winning.
