unplayable? that's a skill issue
how is that? What monitor are you using? What is the size? I am using a Samsung g9 49 " running 5 k and widescreen does not work at any ratio. You must me using or tweaking something. The fov is zoomed in on my end. Enlightened us.
This actually isn't what the game is meant to look like, you have far less viertical fov than normal. I also used to play the game like this, and its not too bad, but its noticeable when you swap to 16:9 and see how much more of the weapon is visible.
At the same time, it makes the sights way easier to use, and some other depth of field/effects etc. look very different at lower FOV.
The devs really need to standardise on something because currently it just isn't consistent, and this combined with things like the option for camera shake/foliage etc. and the borked audio settings (seen many people play with basically no gunfire audio so they can listen to footsteps, meanwhile the devs seem to intend gunfire to be disorienting...) means that I feel like you could end up playing against people who are abusing various setups to have an edge, in a way that is antithetical to the experience this game is meant to be about which is really sad.
And it's not even possible to run the game in the window at 21:9.
Gray Zone Warfare also uses Unreal Engine 5 and you can see that it is possible to run it in the window regardless of the resolution.
And removes the frame from windowed mode.
We don't play on Windows 98 anymore!
(It is also possible with UE5)
*By the way, the Samsung G9 has 2x2K and not 5K (I don't know who came up with this nonsense)
2K resolution:
16:9=QHD
21:9=W(ide)QHD
32:9=D(ual)QHD

Bodycam lives and stands out through its immersiveness and sets itself apart from other games. And only through that.
And as mentioned above, "Perhaps people want to enjoy a more immersive experience on 32:9 displays."
So you play a game that stands out solely through its immersiveness and now you criticize players as "FPS noobs" who play on ultra wide monitors because of the immersiveness?
What's wrong with you? Are you confused?
Why shouldn't you play FPS games on (super) ultra wide monitors?
And has it ever occurred to you that people also play FPS games because they enjoy the game?
Not everyone turns down their graphics so that they have the best FPS settings (to see players, etc. better)
Many people also play on max settings to enjoy the graphics.
Especially in AAA games that advertise their graphics, among other things.
