things improved for me with update. a few more crashes than normal but no lag.
From what I have gathered from research of various topics across the net on this problem it seems they improved performance for lower end machines and those people have a better experience. The people who had zero problems before due to high end machines are now experiencing problems with the "new optimization" they put in.
I managed to get it to run smooth again, but I had to drop the Anti-Aliasing to 2X from 8X.
In contrast I can run every other game in existence on High or Ultra setting and even run Skyrim with a Ultra quality ENB setup that is warned to cause major FPS loss and still get 50fps on average. So the point of that is to say, Q-Loc ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up, cause it sure as hell isn't my PC.
I wonder if this is another AMD vs Nvidia issue with this being a less than stellar port. I run AMD and have had very few issues, outside of crowd denisty murdering my framerate if I set it to full, I can set it to 99 and have no impact and occasional music glitches. But all my friends who run Nividia cards get the black ring glitch, the rope glitch, the crash on launch glitch, ect. The patch notes said they fixed hair tessellation, with the game being built for an AMD platform then ported over I have a feeling that might have been what messed things up.
It is so ass backwards it's not even funny. The entrances are already locked to 30fps ... so how come the gameplay can go 60fps without a single drop and an entrance has to drop to 12fps.
