I have no idea what leads to the error that cause the game not to save, it's been a bug since release (it is NOT caused by the Save Swapper), but I found a fool proof fix it seems, and I've worked the fix into my save swapper program...that way you can backup and restore your current save without loosing anything due to the bug. Because, strangely enough, it's not a file error or corruption in the save files themselves, despite that being what it seems like, your save is completely restorable with minimal effort. You'll know this error because if you try to download anything from Community Creations it'll tell you that the content is damaged or if you try to save in career it'll simply tell you that the save failed.
If you're wondering what the details are, basically it has to do with the fact that the game uses the Steam API to save data to your \userdata\...\ folder, and for whatever reason that function gets corrupted. The solution is to REMOVE the entire \...\userdata\[USER ID]\240460\ folder from your machine and restart the game, forcing steam to recreate the directory. This has been working for users since the game launched, but it normally resulted in the loss of save data...with the Save Swapper, you don't have to lose anything when you apply the fix.
You can find the 'Fix Save Error' option in the tool drop down menu at the top of the program. It's pretty much automated, but you'll have to answer a question or two along the way.
Just wanted to say i think its cool how you went to the trouble of making this utility in the first place. It seems reaaly useful.
The biggest thing though is the support you have given it, with many updates that include not only fixes, but new features too.
You even incorporated an excellent workaround to a horrible bug that should have been 2K's job to fix!
I love modding games and finding new user made utilities that make the game better.
Sometimes someone will tweak some stats on a sword in the Skyrim Creation Kit and call it a mod.
Then there are the talented guys like yourself who not only release useful mods/utilities but support them by updates and adding new features.
Keep it up. This is a handy thing to have. I'd use it even just to avoid losing my save to that bug as if i lost my progress, as meager as it is lol, i don't know if i could be bothered to start again as i'm not really into wrestling as much as some. I only bought the game out a combination of nostalgia and the fact it was on sale. :)
