1080p video?
Does this at least use the 1080p footage from the blu ray release? I was disapointed with the low quality video in recent Dragons Lair 1 pc release.

the original laserdisc resolution was something like 625*420, i don't know if digital leisure have access to the original (analog) cartoon and how was the quality of that before it was digitalized into the laserdisc. in this case there are chances to have a real better resolution, but honestly I highly doubt, so basically any resolution higher than this it's just an upscale done in postprocessing. for the Bluray they MUST provide a 1080p resolution in order to work properly and respect the standard, again, i highly doubt this is a real 1080p, is just an upscale forced in order to respect the video standards.

The Blu-ray version was not a simple upscale from the laserdisc, they did have access to the original negatives and it was a new restored transfer.

It looks pretty bad in the screen shots. Look at the full size image and you'll see really enlarged pixels. I was pretty upset that the 1080p transfer of the first Dragon's Lair was not used for the recent PC release.

I was expecting Hi-def as well - this is likely the same crap they pulled on the ipad - you got 'dragons's lair' then later 'dragons's lair HD' which you had inevitably to fork out more for.
Still waiting for HD Cobra comand as well. you cant buy it on the app store anymore.

if you go to the official website and you download the hi res screenshots zip they are 1080p but i cant compare them with other hd versions (ps3,blu-ray,xbox360) screenshots because links are dead. by the way, consider that the game is 600 megabytes, the ps3 version is 1Gb (and is 1080p), the xbox360 version is 1Gb aswell and is 720p, so basically even if the video is 1080p is more compressed than the console versions (assuming there is no extra stuff on the consoles). An answer from digital leiusre would be nice as there are no info anywhere about the video quality if is the one that has been remastered and wich format it is.

Is it that difficult to just release the 1080 version? It really makes me not want to buy ever and just get the blu-ray. If they're going to eventually sell an HD ver, they should just release an update instead. Angry customers...

blu-ray costs 50$ EACH on their website, that is crazy to be honest, will never purchase for that price.
maybe they should do a dlc that adds higher quality video and 5.1 audio like the blu-rays. the games are something around 20<->25 minutes each, with some maths 600 megabytes the streams are around 3mbps that is quite low bitrate for an HD content even if is a cartoon and if they have used the most advanced codecs.

the footage is wmv 720p (VC-1 codec) 3mbps and audio wma stereo 128kbps, cheers
Ew! Windows media video with 128kbps? I'll pass on this. I guess if you want the best video restoration, get the blu ray version. I'm not sure how well that one plays but who cares about gameplay since it's just video footage anyway.

it doesn't look that bad to be honest, at least is better than the stream provided with Daphne. a ripped down version from the blu-ray with almost the same quality and the surround audio would have been more appropriate by the way, considering that it's hard they will be able to resell (again) this game for pc for many years to come.

i have it on wii and it upscales on my wii u and looks ok. the price was right and it came with both dragons lair and space ace for 20 bucks. way better deal.

I'm passing on this too, considering I own the Blu-ray's I don't want to downgrade from 1080p to heavily compressed 720p :(

And still no answer from the devs :(

Devs dont give a ♥♥♥♥, I wonder if there is a way to substitute the Blue ray files for the Steam video files ?

Who on earth these days uses WMV ?, only companies trying to stiff customers of decent quality.
