So what did everyone decide to do durning this quest. I know who the killed her and now I just have to confront them. I can't decide what to do. Kill him, Take his hand without killing him or let him live?

I chose to hear Oleg's version of the events – he said it was an accident. I spared him. I told the Rusalka it was an accident – she tried to kill me. You need to press the key quickly to avoid her attack. The quest failed, and I’m glad because I didn’t want to be the hitman for an angry, irrational creature.

I chose to take Oleg's hand thinking it would be enough to get vengeance for Rusalka. But it wasn't, and she still attacked me then went back to the lake. Therefore quest failed (I mean 'complete' but failed in terms of helping Rusalka).

I decided to kill him. Ultimately, no he didn't kill her, and didn't deserve it. But he played her pretty hard, boating without knowing how to swim is a stupid idea, and having a supernatural entity haunting the lake and killing innocents didn't seem great either. Plus, I was going for a "chaos ending".

Oleg has his own story. I'd hear him out. But remember, the mermaid tasked you with killing him AND taking his hand. Just taking his hand won't cut it. But ultimately, whatever you do, doesn't really affect the rest of the game. If the mermaid is satisfied, she gives you a trinket. If you spare Oleg, you can hypnotize him to give you a store discount.

I wish there was some way to get update on rusalka in the epilogue. Maybe some wall sign on the street that mysterious drownings continue. Or not, if she's satisfied.

I chose to take his hand and then lie that I killed him. Rusalka believed me, so the quest completed successfully.

Oh did she? That must be new. Previously she would not believe and attack you anyways.
