Unable to locate Evgeny before duel to influence outcome

As title says, I seem to have progressed this quest at an inopportune moment, as the Kupala Night fell right between the announcement of the duel and the commencement of it, making it impossible to interact with Evgeny prior to it. Thus it will always end in either Kirill or Evgeny dying as Evgeny cannot be interacted with prior to the duel to prevent it or cause him to deliberately miss.
Every evening since the duel was declared I attempted to find Evgeny to ask him about it given an opportunity but he was nowhere to be found. Strangely enough, starting Kirill's quest to rob their house makes Evgeny appear in the bedroom, though he cannot be interacted with.
Yeah I dunno if I can save this one at this point. Would appreciate any advice here. I'm currently on a manual save right after Kupala Night, where the duel is supposed to take place.

I haven't started Kirill's quest in any of my playthroughs, but I still found Evgeny in the bedroom after he declared the duel, perfectly interactable. It's intended to be that way.

When you have the opportunity (after a short talk), enchant Evgeny and tell him to shoot in the air. At the duel, turn invisible and rush to Kirill. When you interact with him, he will miss - presumably, you will move his hand. This way, both duellers will survive.

That's what I'm telling you, he isn't there. Anastasia can be found playing cello on the rooftop, but Evgeny is nowhere to be found.
If I start Kirill's quest, he will appear in the bedroom but he will be unconscious and can't be interacted with. Weird.

I may have misremembered the quest, actually. The only thing I'm certain of is that he is upstairs.

Have you gotten inside the house through the window? Because getting in through the door spends an action point and "breaks the quest", in the exact way you described.

If you're doing both Anastasia's and Eugeny's quest at the same time, often Anastasia's quest will take precedence. Like I could'n't enter their house because "I need a gift for the hostess" (once it prevented me from entering even though Anastasia was dead already and quest failed, still had to buy a gift and only then I could enter the house and talk to Eugeny). So maybe try to get everything with Anastasia done first. If you still have that save.

Unfortunately on the day of the duel Eugeny cannot be found anywhere. Kirill can still be found in the bar though. I don't know if they've patched it yet, but if you kill Kirill right before the duel, his dead body will still show up and participate. Which was hilarious and completely unaccounted for by the developers.

Doing the duel quest Before Anastasia's also works. I think the devs intended for Liza to get the invitation from Either of them, but didn't take into account that some people would want to do the two quest lines simultaneously.

What do you mean, Evgeny cannot be found anywhere? On the day of the duel both he and Kirill should be on Lover's Island. If you find Kirill in the bar as well, this is a bug.

This is definitely a bug. And a hillarious one as well. Too bad I took the screenshot outside of Steam, so cannot post it. But what I meant is Eugeny can only be influenced before the day of the duel. And if Anastasia's quest is active, it can override Eugeny's quest.

Why? You can turn invisible and interact with Kirill during the duel. If they both miss, they both live.

Yeah, but Evgeny is nowhere to be found prior to the duel thanks to multiple quests layering on each other and making it impossible to speak with him, so I cannot encourage him to miss. Meaning one of them has to die now.
