I'm not going to sugarcoat it...but I'm not counting on the Hyperdome to have multiplayer anytime soon.

CDHD has always been intended to be a single player experience. If multiplayer was planned, then the game would take much longer to finish.

In the main dev's own words(Erik): “The fact that it's singleplayer only lets us build things much faster and better. There are a lot more things we'd rather add to make it a better singleplayer experience." "Multiplayer makes everything take a lot longer to build, so the combat and content would be worse, but multiplayer...Opting for an awesome singleplayer experience with this one instead.”

On top of singleplayer being faster to make and improve upon, there's also the matter of netcode and ping, which determines framerate and lag in a game, which is horrendous to control in VR.

CDDZ's netcode in places like Last Bot Standing was bad enough, even with static models and premade animations. Add in the fact that a VR player can make their own movements, and you get lag that is 10x worse. As for ping, one of the devs on the Doborog team(Dylan/Gvarados)made a VR Pong prototype and found that even with extremely low ping, the ball would lag out anyways and it would be extremely hard to hit. With that experience, he determined that making CDHD as a multiplayer game just wasn't feasible.
