Locking chests can be an early strat if you're desperate for some capitals, but tbh as soon as you unlock Potions you'll be earning much more than locking a chest. And the same amount of souls (either 9 or 10 depending on the game mode) will net you 320 or 350-something coins in the Soul Trade -- a much better deal.
I'm not sure if people read description, but question i'm raising has a fundamentally important note that i specifically mentioned.
Yeah I thought the entire point of them was to add to your coffers. Hopefully it's a bug that will be fixed cause it was a nice feature and probably my favourite way to make $ lol

This isnt a problem, just play the game. it flows just fine. and if your not making enough money, change your strategy.
If this was an intended design change where locking chests doesn't do anything except waste your souls, then the option to lock chests should be removed until it actually does something. If not, then it's a bug to be fixed.
