What an ignorant thing to say. Did you have nothing constructive to add, so just decided to make a flippant meaningless comment instead?
Of course there is leeway, but there is an expectation of a completed project when they ask for our money.
This game should be in alpha right now so that those indie devs can make improvements and changes while keeping their credibility. Releasing an unfinished product has nothing to do with being indie or not (EA loves to do it too), it has to do with disrespecting the customer base (gamers) and making a grab for cash with an unfinished project.
If it was in alpha and for sale, I would have bought it with the understanding that it isn't finished and that there are expected improvements coming. That isn't what happened here. They released a game that wasn't done. They skipped the alpha stage and proclaimed their game as finished. There is no big expectation of fundamental changes after a "completed" game is released.
This is dishonest.
(On a side note, i really can't understand why this was done. This project has so much potential, but just needs a bit more work. Maybe it was someone above the dev's control pushing for a release, maybe some devs have abandoned the project so they had to release whatever they had, maybe they're in a financial squeeze atm and needed a cash injection to stay afloat.... no idea why. But whatever the reason, it screws over the customer base.)
I was thinking the same thing. Went to read their roadmap, and it doesn't even address any of the core problems. Wish I could get a refund.
You can get a refund as long as you haven’t bought the game more than two weeks ago (I believe) and haven’t played for a certain amount of time.
