Do we need 100% lighting?

Is lighting in general only a visual thing or does it really affect the rating of the rooms and the dungeon?
I figured only the rating of the room itself (based on the items in it) does count... am I wrong here?

I admit I've fully lit each room as I'm not sure either. I certainly hope that lighting isn't a consideration for your dungeon prestige. That would let me make my dungeon more cozy.

It affects the speed of the heroes in the room, I like to keep my dungeon kinda low light, then I have a little more control over the pace of things. If a room is starting to bottleneck, I add a bit more light.

A fully dark room will debuff your adventurers by -60% movement speed and -60% attack speed

But having low lighting does not affect the rating of the dungeon then, do I get that right?

Correct, no impact to rating.
