This needs to be treated like XvsSF where version 2 is the preferred version of the game competitively.
Otherwise, Ranked might be less populated and you'll see people running to making rooms to play Vanilla CvS2 there and not touch ranked.
For me, EO severely limits battles and everything you can do, leaving only the most powerful supers due to their ease of use. But when they see that they can't beat players using normal mode, if they're experienced, they'll surely want to improve and switch to normal mode, or go cry in a corner and quit the game.
You have separate Logos, so... easy make it a separate game and not a switch version option for one single entry. This should be an easy change.

Good point, I understand those who like EO but normal mode is much more fun and challenging.
