VIP maps for example. These were a staple in CS 1.x.
Removed from Source.
While a plethora of new map types got created.
Surf, Aim, etc.
Then there are the other VALVe game maps that get ported.
Including CSGO versions of CSS maps. DoD maps. Etc.
The Problem is.
The newer Dev Team ( CSGO+ ) doesnt really have a lot of Talent.
They arent exactly Professional Developers. Like the original Staff for HL2 / CSS port.
The Devs Valve has these days. Are mostly mobile gaming & script kiddie ex-community modders / cheat developers.
They pretty much have destroyed the concept behind the CSGO mod ( not that the concept was very good to begin with. ).
And far as CS/CSS, they have never understood what it takes to make a #1 blockbuster franchise FPS. Considering the reason CS 1.6 got ported to Source, was me. And no one in VALVe would have thought to do it. Without my input. After all, they ported DoD initially. And not their #1 Blockbuster Franchise FPS.
I wont use the new Workshop. I can imagine what the new Hammer is missing far as entities, functions, etc. EG: Hostages.
They really have chopped the game up.
Adding too many other games Features ( CSGO / CSGO2 ).
While adding way too much Mobile Gaming gimmicks.
Skins/Stickers = Mobile Games " Vanity Gear ". Same Mobile Gaming Loot Box systems.
" Vanity Badges " like that new " Video Game Addicts " Badge they made for next year.
CS/CSS is where us Pros still hang out at.
Until The Real CS2, Counter-Strike: Source 2.
Is finished Development & Testing.
Congrats on all your contributions. Happy Holidays and hope you get that major award this year.
but the sense of community and the variety of gameplay between servers makes this way more fun for me
Agreed the huge variation in hitreg. Mostly server dependant. Fast PC running well configured 100 tick with a fast Internet connection usually has great reg and smooth feel. Slow PC with poor connection/settings always bad reg.
Good thing you get to pick what you play on. Subtick has shown to be is even more messed up IMO.
