LERP
Heyo. depending on some console configuration i can have 15.2 lerp or 100 lerp. what is better ? i think that with 100 lerp the game doesnt register well. so smaller number in orange better than 100 lerp in white?

All servers now on CSS should work with TickRate 66, so 15.2 is the one you need and cl_interp_ratio 1.

No problem ;)

For people, that like configs (add this launch parameter first: +exec userconfig.cfg, then use that CFG in a CSTRIKE\CFG dir.):

rate 70000
cl_cmdrate 66
cl_updaterate 66
cl_interp_ratio 1
cl_interp 0.015152
cl_lagcompensation 1

It's ok, now you just need that file in a proper directory.

My previous post wasn't very detailed. The parameter was needed to EXEC the config file, titled "userconfig.cfg", from "/cstrike/cfg/" folder. Without it the file wouldn't be executed at all.

You just paste all those cvars into the notepad, save the file, as userconfig.cfg (not userconfig.cfg.txt, cause it won't work) and place in the "/cstrike/cfg/" folder, that's all.

after putting them manually for a while i find that i have a disadvantage with the settings you gave me. i feel like 100 lerp is better, normal?

I'm just letting you know, how the game should be configured for a proper online gaming, if you feel it's wrong for you, leave it.

Probably you were playing this game with Lerp=100 for too long and now you can't play with sharp settings. Short Lerp makes server Hitboxes (invisible player models registering your bullets) to be better synchronized with Skinned models (those you can see).

It's your choice, which settings you will use.

After looking on internet i found how to rename .txt to cfg steps here for ppl with same problem
Steps are:

Open windows explorer or any folder >
Click >Tools tab
Click >Folder Options
Click >View tab

In the View Tab find ...Hide file extensions for known file types

and

Unselect the check box

Click Apply and OK

Now you can rename any file to what u want.

Thx Gro for your tuto its working now :)

No problem ;]

I wanted to give you a ready one with few convars added, but I see you did it (userconfig.cfg):

beter use just cl_interp_ratio 1, dont use interp, smooth commands.

I didn't use a smooth command in my CFG and it's enabled by default, so I really don't know, what are you talking about.

And I don't see any reason to not use cl_interp, while you know, what you're doing...

...anyway: LERP = 15.2 = cl_interp 0.015152

This engine is not perfect and interp_ratio 1 alone is not enaugh for this engine to calculate Lerp properly.
