Was phoon legit?
This is his famous video of him bunnyhopping insanely fast. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SNvDUO42Hys

I never played CSS in 2010 so was this bunnyhopping actually humanely possible? No cheats or scripts used to bhop this fast?

Yes, he did this without any external/internal cheats or scripts.
No and here's why:
The demos are recorded in a low tickrate (If I remember correctly: 32 ticks) so it makes it harder to know what kills are legit and if the hops are also legit.

And another big factor was the Source engine bhopping exploit he used in ESEA and Warlord servers.
He was able to hop to insanely high velocity rates using a bhopping exploit that he used.
Of course, Valve patched it and that's what made him quit, so that's why you can't bhop like that in CS Source anymore and neither in GO.
The exploit was simply the use of the Quake engine in the CS Source engine and how easy it was to bhop.

Sadly, bhopping like that is no longer possible, but it was very game breaking. Although, it makes me sad he had to leave.

Also, another question some of you might have: who or what is zBlock?

It's an anti cheat for CS Source servers. It's like Sourcemod Anti Cheat (SMAC), but better.

All this thread and nobody has looked at phoons own personal website. Want to be sure to get the phoon config... Use the internet archive and browse his website to the page with phoons config posted by phoon and phoons website. Want to see the depth he went into to get the config and his mouse setting working just right to bhop well...look at his/others work for an calculator for mouse settings and phoons forum posts helping others. The movement system allows for phoon to be legit. He was likely 100% legit.

To the Scale of Nowadays and listening to he left for the Reason to what the Community moved to, i would consider his playstyle as the definition of a Troll....on a bunnyhopserver i would see it different, but this playing from the "tomuchforZblock" has nothing to do with playing Counterstrike for what it was meant to be.
Interestingly OP declared the most neutral Anwer for what he wants to be seen as true.

I watched this when it first released and I was very young so I was very confused, but then as I watched more of this game, saw cheaters how they worked, saw legit pro players, and remembered this is similar to cheaters on cod when I watched my Dad play. So over time I kept watching and kept watching and then went back to the video and realized not only was this dude a pro and a original member to the game, but he was completely legit, and thats my take on it. I just watched people and compared it to him and other games where people cheated and just saw that everything he did was right and there was hardly any suspicious activity going on, of course if I played against him, I would of said different like so many people in the past.

...so you should learn more about scripts, because he wasn't 100% legit. That's why he stopped after some security updates.

Late to the party but he literally admitted himself that he used bhop hack and aimbot in most of his clips. Crazy how people just invent everything out of thin air when phoon himself admitted to using cheats
