I'm the same. I haven't tried Forglar!, I'll give that a go.
I tried the free version and was so impressed I broke a rule of mine and paid for the full version. First mod for any game I have ever paid for, and I was even further impressed!
Damn, they're keeping the very best maps until last - Genesis and Ragnarok. 😟 After 3.3k hours in ASE, The Island and the Center bore me to death, Scorched Earth is pretty OK, the rest never interested me, really.
https://ark-unity.com/ark-survival-ascended/news/ With the delays and there track record I would say October/November probably
Ark Ascended is a demanding game, but its poor performance is difficult to justify. It lacks advanced graphics features like real nanite support, true hardware ray tracing, and high-end effects. While the volumetric clouds are visually impressive, they are poorly optimized. The virtual shadows in Unreal Engine 5.2 are underwhelming, and the game consumes up to 10GB of VRAM on my RTX 3080, which feels excessive. Even with Low Graphics settings, DLSS Performance Mode in 4K (upscaled from 1080p), and Frame Generation enabled, Ark Ascended performs and looks worse than Ark Evolved, which runs smoothly for me.
I can't shake the feeling that it was a waste of money. It would have been better to wait, pay less later, and potentially receive a much more polished and playable game. Purchasing it at this stage feels premature.
This person does make a fair point, not only are they infamous for delays, their also infamous for not informing us, its now 12th of November and still no word.
