Ragnarok map
I know Ark is infamous for not meeting it's announced updates but Ragnarok was supposed to be added mid September. Is there any word if this is going to happen?

The next major update for Ark Ascended is scheduled to take place between October 15th and November of this year. This update will enhance the game's graphics engine with Unreal Engine 5.4, which is expected to significantly improve performance in various areas of the game. While there's hope that this update might include the Ragnarok map, I believe the chances are minimal. In my opinion, it's more likely that the next map expansion for Ark Ascended will be Ragnarok. Therefore, it's possible that we could see the new map—whether Ragnarok or another—within the next three months, by early January at the latest.

I don't want to sound pessimistic, as it would be fantastic to receive a new map before the end of the year. However, considering the work and delays WC has experienced with the Unreal Engine 5.4 update, it's challenging to say that there’s a feasible opportunity to release a new map this year.

The only map I like is Ragnarok, really, so I'm just marking time until it comes out. Thank god for Map Mods like Forglar!

I'm the same. I haven't tried Forglar!, I'll give that a go.

I tried the free version and was so impressed I broke a rule of mine and paid for the full version. First mod for any game I have ever paid for, and I was even further impressed!

I thought the ASA road map had Ragnarok in mid 2025, did that change?

Rag was Sept 2025.

Damn, they're keeping the very best maps until last - Genesis and Ragnarok. 😟 After 3.3k hours in ASE, The Island and the Center bore me to death, Scorched Earth is pretty OK, the rest never interested me, really.

Considering how The Center and AB turned out, hope they take all the extra time they need to not actually ruin the maps visually.

In my opinion, given the current performance of Ark Ascended compared to Ark Evolved and the planned release schedule for new maps, I understand that the Ascended Ragnarok map is set to launch this year. However, I believe the developers should focus on addressing performance issues and releasing substantial patches and updates over the next few months, rather than pushing out another map. It's crucial to fix existing bugs and enhance game stability before adding new content, especially considering the problems with performance and technical issues seen with the Aberration release.

Ark Ascended is a demanding game, but its poor performance is difficult to justify. It lacks advanced graphics features like real nanite support, true hardware ray tracing, and high-end effects. While the volumetric clouds are visually impressive, they are poorly optimized. The virtual shadows in Unreal Engine 5.2 are underwhelming, and the game consumes up to 10GB of VRAM on my RTX 3080, which feels excessive. Even with Low Graphics settings, DLSS Performance Mode in 4K (upscaled from 1080p), and Frame Generation enabled, Ark Ascended performs and looks worse than Ark Evolved, which runs smoothly for me.

I can't shake the feeling that it was a waste of money. It would have been better to wait, pay less later, and potentially receive a much more polished and playable game. Purchasing it at this stage feels premature.

Ragnorak is coming in March 2025. There is a new free creature with it as well the Giant Bison. It was announced during the extra life stream.

Rag has been pushed to March 25. I would add 2-3 weeks onto that. Wildcard are notorious for reading calendars
