Is hardcore mode the same hardcore as SE?
I mean, in the description is set like "you will be lvl 1 if you die". Does that mean that if you die your character (and hence, structure and dino ownership) will get deleted or not?
I do like challenges in my SP games, but at least i want to keep my character...
Thx!

PS: I wonder if the Single player option still affects some of the tame or xp multiplier values as the old SE did.

"you will be lvl 1 if you die" weird wording there.
Hardmode means if you die you have to start fresh, so you're forced to make a new character. Not sure if your stuff will be gone as well, might be still there but owned by the character that no longer exists.

Yeah, the translation seems ♥♥♥♥♥♥ enough to confuse me (i always had the game in english)
♥♥♥♥, sounds as bad as the old SE hardcore mode then, and now i dont have that wonderful hardcore mod that removes your total xp everytime you die.
Thx buddy,

Being an "experienced" Hardcore player in ASA (experienced as in it's pretty much the only way I play with lowered XP ratio in order to make the beginning longer and forcing myself to use dinos that I probably wouldn't with higher XP ratios), here's what happens in Hardcore:

All settings will be as you set them. Thus, if you use easy settings, it should be easier.
As for having "one life", if you die, your character is wiped (not the world). Thus, you have to create a new character but any building you've built will still be in the world but won't be accessible unless you've placed a numpad lock on stuff.
As for tamed dinos, they will still be there...tamed to your old character. Meaning you'll have to wait the said amount of time to retame them as you cannot belong to a tribe since there's no one to invite you (assuming your playing singleplayer).

Personally, If I die, I simply wipe the world and start anew along with the character.

Man, sometimes i have to recall how retarded i am for paying the update + dlcs for just to build a freaking train...
As i said before, i had that wonderful soft hardcore mod that removes you part of your total experience, where you feel the consequences of your actions but not to the point of reset the character. I miss specially this mod so much.

Been away from Ark for a while and had forgotten about this topic.

I'd like to add what I found out before I had to go away from Ark for a while.

As I mentioned above, when playing hardcore, you reset to level 1 if you die.
Anything you've built will still be in the world. If you haven't placed doors, you will be able to access any inventory/storage/crafting stations.
Edit: If you did place doors, I strongly recommend adding keypad codes so you can access them on your new character.
Any dinos that were tamed will still be tamed to your previous character (I've figured out a legit workaround to this. Keep on reading).

In the event that you die, hopefully, you had time to breed some dinos in order to stock on some eggs.
In the even that your in a still early playthrough and your not at a point where breeding is possible or efficient enough for your own personals taste, I recommend making a pen and store some dinos that you will set as passive and then unclaim said dinos. This way, they will not go onto a killing frenzy if they are Carnivores.

This way, you do reset to level 1 (depending on your XP settings, this can be a huge blow [this is my case]).

Hope this help other SP-Hardcore players out there.
