Distance range Admin and player

They know if there is any way to increase the distance range between the Admin and a player on a non-dedicated server.

I would also like to know. I am willing to mod, alter files, whatever, I just want to play with my friend, for free, without tether. We both have plenty capable rigs and its pretty stupid that we cant explore.

Don't believe you can change it, you could make a dedicated server instead of a non-dedicated.
That way you would have no tether and you do not have to rent.

It is possible with a good quality gaming PC but not recommended. You would be running two "games" at the same time so I would think you would need at least a good 8 core plus 32 GB of ram then... The dedicated client will take a good 9-10GB empty and depending on mods and players on could get to 15-17GB of ram for the server application only.

The instructions to setup and run a dedicated ark server is here along with all of the startup tags, ini settings etc.

I run the game from a BAT file script... There are a few admin tools currently being developed but they have not been released yet. At the current state of the game, running a dedicated ASA server is done through a manual script management process.
