I dont understand the point of this "ascension" if Ark 2 is to be worked on.

All they did was introduce 2015 all over again, this game lacks so many features the original had and brought back the spaghetti code. Instead of 100% working on Ark 2 they made a overhaul that now needs desperate attention which even further reduces Ark 2 development stage. Honestly think I may refund after playing it because it is like a knocked down version of Evolved with loads of crashing, bugs, and unoptimized bs.

99% sure ark2 is dead.. Technically, it hasnt been cancelled. TLDR; ARK was a success, they decide to do ARK 2, initially set for release in late 2021(yes, you read that correct..) delayed and post-poned to 2022, 2023, 20xx. Because they do not know how to work with the newer UE, they decided to make ASA, remaster in the new engine to learn it (+ ofc make money). ASA was then delayed many times, until finally coming out, with 1 unfinished map in early access (out of 13 in total..) so ASA wont be complete for at least 2 years most likely. Meanwhile WC is suffering from financial issues, where close to shutdown before ASA launched.

So yeah, ARK 2 isnt cancelled officially, but it's not likely to release in the coming years. Meaning it will have been delayed for probably close to 10 years from the initial date.

All you have to understand is how to squeeze every bit of tooth paste out the tube for the sake of profit. Releasing every little idea they can throw a price tag on is the strategy here. ASE and ASA are beta test platforms for Ark 2. They just suckered us into paying for the testing. They needed more money for Ark 2 development. That is all.

Once 2 is out, ASA will die as well. All the paid mods and DLC (like bobs dumb ass tales and the power ranger bs that's comming) will be useless. Then you'll have to start all over again. Then it'll 3 unfinished titles under their belts.

Not if they throw a finished tag on the game. Doesn't matter if it actually is. I blame Bethesda for this ♥♥♥♥. They got away with releasing an incomplete dumpster fire. So everyone else is following suit. They're literally following the Bethesda playbook. Release unfinished game, charge for mods and let the community fix the game for them. So sad.

Yeah that's just Wild Card's unique spin on it I guess. Do everything in the Bethesda hand book except make it fixable. But then again what would be the point in making an unofficial patch if the devs are just gonna screw it up on the next update? I love this mess of a game but HATE the ones in charge of it.

Wild Card is now Snail part so Ark never will by good again because cash grab thing , devs cant repair own games, all updates of ASA not going in way to make game good but adding more stupid things to it. If you waiting at Ark 2 it will by another disaster with lot of updates and years to just another Ark 3 ;)

This isn't any kind of complicated issue. If you value the massive increase in graphical quality, drop 25 bucks. It's not really a big deal for most adults. If all you ever cared about in the first place was the PVP or something, like if you disabled 99% of the graphics anyway, go ahead and skip it.
