Moschops Eggs

How to get one? I have female and male in small pen with wandering enabled, but as a result of mating I got little baby Moschops right away. But I wanted the egg to make kibble.

What I did wrong?

You probably have your breeding rates set so high that the egg instantly hatched. Either turn those down or wait for them to naturally lay an unfertilised egg. If I remember correctly, and if it is the same as in evolved, the time frame is something like 15 minutes for a chance at an egg. It's a fairly low chance though, you're supposed to have quite a few females. Like right now I have maybe 14 turtles.
