Not even close.

Well maybe a bit... my frames had dropped from 120 4 months ago, down to 48-55. however currently i am averaging 65-72

Come back in march, supposed to go from Unreal 5.2 to 5.5

I went from 40-50 Medium-High with DLSS and FSR disabled on my 7900X and 3080 prior to the most recent update to 10-20 all Low with DLSS Performance Mode and FSR enabled since, with no change to hardware or game state (server has been turned off for that time).

My gf had a similar performance drop (60-70 on high settings down to 40-50 on medium) on her 3600 with 4070TS, so, whatever they've done recently has tanked performance even further

"Optimised" is nothing you simply add. It's an ongoing process.
A simple unreal upgrade doesn't change anything, they need to actually use the new and improved things to make this upgrade worth. + Most of the performance issues have nothing to do with UE5 directly, but with the lackluster implementation and missing configuration of the Engine by Wildcard.

With the experience from ASE many years ago it's quite clear that ASA will never be the most optimized UE5 game we will see, but that the important performance updates will happen at the time of the 1.0 release. Not half way down.

It's actually running better than I pressumed and all the negativity suggests. I'd say it averages around 100 with a 4090, 14700k, 64gigs of Corsair RAM@6.000mhz...loading times are significantly improved over EVO.
Pretty sure they added forced frame generation that they don't tell you about, so people with 4090s think they get 60 fps on max settings and the game just looks like ♥♥♥♥ for some reason but that's because they really get 30fps + frame gen.

Sure...
FPS is better than it used to be, crashes are the worst they've been since the launch of Scorched Earth but not quite as bad as they were at launch.

I guess Im only speaking for myself looking at replies but Im getting more fps than when The Center was added (80 average vs 100) with higher highs (150 in some places) and less choppy. Didnt touch my settings (mix of low and medium with high textures), Im on a 3080

I am on a 3080 too, and noticing less choppyness as well, it still has its moments, but it seems a lot smoother to me, hopefully 5.5 will make it run even better.
Game runs fine for me on my potato 1660 super. Looks like garbage but totally playable lol
I am more than likely running under system requirements, I can get a good 50 FPS on the Island and Scorched, but man does Aberration tank my system in some areas. Haven't been on Extinction yet as I'm "conquest mode"-ing through Single-Player, killing all bosses, getting most if not all unique tames, and then proceeding to the next map.

People need to stop these posts.
ASA is a next gen game meant to be played at next game systems.

Stick to evolved if you are stuck with a 1080 or 20 series still. There is no update that will magically fix your outdated computer

Brother, ASA runs like dogpoo. Its not a PC thing.
3090 suprim x gpu
7950x3d cpu
nvme gen5 corsair mp700 pro 2tb
ddr5 64gb cl40 6000mhz
mb asrock x870e nova wifi

Listen my specs are not the best out there, that's not the point, it runs like az that's the point.
Saying it runs bad only on older hardware its simply not true.
Check your framegraph to see how broken/stuttery ASA really is.
