So heading into a cave immediately after a server restart or in your case a relog in singleplayer results in zero loot.
Most caves on The Island can hold up to three loot crates, so it will take up to an hour untill all of them are present.
Beehives need about an hour per honey.
Ya, sounds like Single Player. Best thing you can do in Single Player is boost all the rates, otherwise it just takes way too long to get anything done. Normal server play, stuff keeps occurring when you log off, so you just come back the next day to a decent amount of honey. In Single player coming back the next day is as if no time has passed since your last play session.
Iv been playing in that singleplayer for days, i just check some of the other caves
Snow cave 0 loot
Upper South cave 0 loot
Lava Cave 0 loot
so far out of 14 caves i found 1 loot in the swamp cave only...and no settings seem to help, my caves have no loot, just the artifacts
So to be clear, Single Player play time is measured in hours, not days. It is how many hours you have played that respawns the loot.
Also there is this concept of loading in a section of the map to make spawns happen. In SP, you often have to go to an area and leave it and then come back 15 minutes to an hour later to actually see spawns occur. Personally I find Single Player too annoying to play because of this, but other reasons. So I don't play SP, partly because it is just plain buggier than server play, but also I prefer seeing other players in game and not being my own admin.
Saying that, there could be a legit bug here, although I have no idea what the problem might be.
So you would have to wait for at least 20 minutes from starting to play to even be able to encounter one drop.
My further theory is that for cave loot to even be able to spawn in singleplayer you would need to be inside the cave for the amount of time it needs to respawn that loot.
Worst case scenario is that you would need to stand idle in a cave entrance for almost an hour to get up to three loot crates.
That system hasn't changed since the release of A:SE and is a prime example of why everyone should try to play on a server even if hosted on the same computer.
It would be a little step each time before you want to play to update and start the server, but you can avoid a plethora of issues, that are exclusive to singleplayer.
By now, there are multiple server manager programs out there to choose and if you play strictly alone, there isn't even a need to fiddle around with port forwarding and stuff like that.
I highly recommend everyone that can, to go that route.
