People who don't understand the game and don't want to learn it, but want to scare off new players to feel like they have a voice, are not going to help the current community in Ark, or the future one. Half the rants are valid, but there are a lot of out of date claims being made about present Ark as well.
I don't think having lots of hours in Ark makes me some expert of itself, but I've gamed since I was 11 in the 90s, and I've never seen flame boards help games progress in any meaningful way, I've also never known a hardcore gamer to take another player's perspective over their own time sitting down with a title. I also do happen to have thousands of hours in ASE and ASA official now, and I do see progress being made on maps I play every day. I see spots where the mesh isn't sucking in my smaller mounts, or a badly timed jump, I see pockets of stability in places players used to avoid building or going due to known crashes. I've seen dinos improved bit by bit, though I understand not to the extremes some people feel they ought to be.
There are games with more active dev teams and better support, but I still choose Ark the most each day because there just isn't a challenge or experience like it, in retro gaming or moderm gaming, for me, and I want the most immersive love / hate I can have with a game, because that means I'm playing tf out of it like games are meant to be played.
If I truly thought no progress has been made, I'd be there with you, but it's the angry low patience players that I see hurting the actual Ark community the most. There are plenty of harmonious official servers where people help each other, and there are healthy Discords with strong communities. Those may not be your preference, but it doesn't make the game broken, just because a lot of the solutions are things you don't prefer.
And I don't ride Wild Card's D, they even hit one of my red gem farms in green zone on Ab that I've used for months, so I took a personal hit to my daily farm, then I found out that farm was a crutch and found an actual rad zone red gem farm because of it. I get about 1000 more red gems per run / respawn now.
The changes are slow, but if it's not going anywhere anyway, and it's that close to being a great game, why not just ride it out? There simply isn't anything on the horizon but Monster Hunter Wilds for me, that I can see giving it real competition, yet I already know I'll be back just because of my obsession with collecting pets.
More negative review just because of a most likely temporary serious bug/crash won't help anyone.
🐲I should immediately write a good recommendation.
How I forgot do it earlier!
Hope it'll help more people to know about this beautiful and amazing game.
👨🍼I really think that people playing in another projects should know how they where stupid that still didn't know about it...
👥📈It should be more happy gamers in the world I think.
🥕Thanks again for good idea! ❤️
Someone can post a bug, you can give a workaround or try to help troubleshoot their crash, and they'll just whine more and call you a shill because they don't want to fix their problem, they want everyone to know they're mad.
Just leave a negative review if you're mad, don't ♥♥♥♥ up the forum.
Many of us in many games have been made victims of the staff here. Just be careful.
Being angry at wildcard isn't worth having action taken against your steam account.
Make a reddit, a discord channel, whatever. Keep yourself safe.
Thank you.
