Regardless of the data sizes it makes a claim of 180+ gigs to my hdd because it is larger and for some reason has to use that much room, i have watched it do it, it reserves 180+ gigs on hdd then it takes about 30mins to an hour to fully patch to the ssd.
And here recently it has been often, i do love the work and time being put in, but I wait 30-60mins and then i just get in the mood to play something else, or get caught up in a show or something.
Also the "download" thing yeah I'm aware... Modern internet can hit 1GB/s so 180gb of data to download should be about 3-5mins depending on service, so 30-60mins for the hopping around of data between a slow HDD and fast SSD.... Idk, just tired of it after so many times i had to wait just to play the game...
I have uninstalled ASA and ASE (ASE had 400gb alone in just map data lol), so i may try reinstalling ASA and see how it works.
But i'm giving it another go, the drive it is on now has 433gb free so if it tries to use my HDD rather than the SSD it is on then i know there is an issue else where.
It was my SSD not having enough space to fully patch so it do it on the HDD for some reason, now that i have 400gb free on the install SSD it no longer has long patch times.
187gb update... it's just the stupid broken way Ark updates.
Full rewrite of main files for some if not all updates, confirmed from many sources too.
Absolutely lost on why this is the only game in my library that does this...
