Gonna wait for the 6080 apparently.... ( RTX 5080 1080p test)
Hi, I've recently been lucky enough to get my hands on a Gigabyte RTX 5080 OC.

On ultra preset with no dlss, so in native 100% ( 1080p ) :
60-70 fps on the first spawn of The Island. I can get to 70-80 if I disable the light mode in cinematic quality but still.... I would like to run the game smoothly in 1440p with structures and dinos... this doesn't seems possible even with the latest generation.

I accept using DLSS (only in quality mode tho) for playing in 1440p, but not frame gen, it gives artefacts and atrocious latency...

Also, I have a question, why is my game so blurry ??? Even in native resolution, I know that FSR is forced but are they forcing it to be set in performance mode ?

For those who thinks that I'm dumb and that I can enjoy the game even with lower settings, I've spent 2000hours in survival evolved, I played in potato mod for hundreds of hours, now I would like the best visual experience ( which is my minimum requirements considering how horrible this remake of SE is ).

PS : remake aberration please.

I recently switched from console, have a 4070 i9 and since DLSS was re-enabled the graphics are much worse. Anything at any distance looks blurry especially when I'm moving or on a dino. I'm hoping the UE5.5 will help but not holding my breath.

UE 5.5 will help for sure

Doesn't surprise me...its blurry because fsr is on by default and the only way to shut it off and get real frames is to copy and paste this:

r.FidelityFX.FSR3.Enabled 0 | r.FidelityFX.FSR3.QualityMode 0 | r.FidelityFX.FI.Enabled 0

into console command. They got rid of nvidias frame gen cause it just crashed within five minutes of activating it. I have a 4070ti/9800x3d and play on 1440p...the only thing i put on medium is advanced graphics other than that everything else is on high...I also turn off folnow I do shut off clouds, fog and grass and run native resolution with dlss on quality (im forcing dlss 4 through the driver for ark...looks a lot better) and on The island it ranges from 50-75 frames...stays above 60 most of the time. Of course all this is map dependent. If I left FSR on it would be almost double that, but like you said...it's blurry. Like having motion blur on.
You're actually supposed to leave all the fsr settings enabled but the quality to 4, then use nvidias game filter to sharpen the image, if it's blurry. If you use sharpen+ to increase texture detail you can do that without the ugly side effects of actual image sharpening.

Should grant you anywhere between 20-30fps for the 4090.

I understood what you said beceause I work with game engines and I'm highly familiar with pc hardware in general. But if I was a complete casual player I shouldn't have to do that many things to just play a game without having a huge blur.

The game in 1080p looks like in run on 480p, that's horrible
Well, I tried to fiddle around for hours yesterday, but DLSS just doesn't work like it's supposed to. ASA simply isn't on the list of to be optimized games in the Nvidia app. None of the settings did anything for the better, except power management to max performance and everything else to let ASA take over.

Then run the game in native with fsr quality 1, and using game filters I get anywhere around 60-90 fps with epic settings, cinematic lights on, volumetric fog and clouds, on a 4090. It occasionally drops to mid 50 running in new areas with tons of new found Dinos. The same goes for my main base. The game just can't look perfect and handle dozens of Dinos at once, specially not with megastructures and lots of background scripts going on...it just can't.

But I had pretty much the same performance with EVO, only difference were the most performant peaks around the 140's, where I hardly ever exceed 100 in ASA. Maybe the easy beaches with no one around but me.

the cards are new and probably haven't been optimized for Ark. wait for some driver updates. I'm on a 4080 running 4k ultra wide with most things maxed out and 'm getting a consistent 60 fps no OC.

From benchmark tests the 5080 is barely an upgrade from the 4080 so I'm not sure what you were expecting tbh

The card is more of a 4080 TI

Yes its totally a 4080ti...

The amount of cope is wild.
The game runs like az on older hardware->get better hardware.
The game runs like az on 5080->its more of a 4080 ti idk what you expected.(Which is somewhat true statement.)
They are still on 5nm apart from the faster memory/pci 5 upgrade, which wouldn't get you huge gains. And the new feature MFG which doesn't really mean "performance gains".
Wait for 5.5 to fix it.
Wait for Nvidia to make ark work, while the ark devs can't.
Can't win with you people, stop coping and face the music.
The game is very poorly optimized and has been like this since release.

4090 runs this game great so depending on how the used market prices develop you might want to get a 4090 instead of waiting two years for a 6080 that could just turn out to be another 4080 ti
