Low end pc stuttering
I have not played much ark because I know my pc can barely handle it in the first place. (AMD 580 gpu, ryzen 7 3700, 16 gb of ddr 4 ram.) BUT up until yesterday’s update my game was very playable. I got around 40-60 fps on low settings and it really didn’t feel too bad. AFTER the update, the game is now unplayable. I am still getting 40-60 fps however every 3 to 4 seconds I get big stutters that make my game freeze up for a second. I think it may be my ram maxing out? I am going to get up 32 gb of ram tomorrow and see if that makes a difference. I do plan to upgrade my gpu soon as well but I don’t think that’s the problem. I’ve tried every single trick to fix the stuttering.

It's very likely RAM maxing out. 16GB, despite being the minimum requirement, just isn't enough.
This game eats RAM like some ppl eat cookies.
So more RAM will definately make a difference; but 32GB will probably also max out at some point, especially on SP with mods on bigger maps.
I'm pretty sure they have ♥♥♥♥♥♥ something up with the new patch. My game is doing the exact same thing and literally started right after the update. Multiple other people are having the same issue too
32ram its still crap.

The command "r.VolumetricCloud 0" can help a lot for the performance

i have 64ram and the update messed it up completely. Don't think it's ram probably some mess up in the update like usual. Wild card can't put out an update without messing up the game completely.

Facts!!!!
I have 32 gigs and it's barely enough.

I went from a 2 gig to a 11.8 gig pagefile after playing ASA, so obviously 32 gigs is STILL not enough.
Upgrading will help you surely, however.

The last update absolutely f**ked everything. My FPS has halved and I am getting an awful FPS stutter. From what I have gathered from my servers it seems to be a AMD issue and not affecting intel users. As it is the weekend we will have to probably wait til Monday to see a patch.

With that said your pc needs some significant updates. If cost is an issue, do it bit by bit. That way you can get improvement little by little. There are some really good cost effective options that will give you significant improvement.

I have nothing but Intel and I'm having the same FPS issue, stuttering every 4th step. So it's not a AMD thing.
this will not only fix the stuttering but also up to triple your frame rate

If all you're running is Intel Integrated Graphics or Intel(R) Iris(R) Xe Graphics, then your system does not meet the minimum System Specs for ASA or most other modern games. Both of those that I listed is Integrated Graphics, which means it uses the CPU for display generation. Most games require a Discrete Graphics Card, which generally means an nVidia or AMD GPU. In my system, which runs Windows 11, it has the Intel Iris AND an nVidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti GPU listed. Check in the Performance Tab of Task Manager to see if you have more than one GPU listed. If there's only one, and it's an Intel GPU, then there's either no Discrete Graphics Card in the PC or the proper software drivers were not installed. Without a Discrete GPU, stuttering is highly likely if you can even get it to run...

my "pc" also does not meet minimum requirements

it is a docked steam deck running windows 10 @ 1920x1080 (on a monitor)

the old one with the slower memory

but i get a strong +50 fps, using this
