How to active frame generation?
I bought an RTX 4080 Super to play this recently and noticed that the option is not shown.

WC temporarly removed Nvidia Frame generation due to constant crashing and replaced it with FSR Frame generation witch is enabled by default. Sadly this implementation of FSR frame generation is poorly done so things like g-sync/free-sync don't work (you get screen tearing). If you lock your frame rate at 60 fps for example, the game renders at about 30fps and then try's to get 60fps with frame generation witch feels awful and doesn't look like 60fps at all. The only way to disable it currently is via console commands. That's what i did.
I put most things on high settings and put an fps lock of 60fps through the Nvidia driver with Frame generation disabled.

But in the rencent Community crunch (weekly news update about the game) the devs stated that they will re add Nvidia Frame generation as soon as possible. I guess its going to be re added this year hopefully

Another thing to note here is that FG will show as OFF, until you are playing and NOT in yoiur invventory. That's right, when you open an inventory, it turns it off. (use stat fps to see)
In the end I did some research and the best thing was to remove everything related to FSR3.1

I play with all graphics on High at an average of 60-70 with an RTX 4080 Super 1440p without dlss, fsr, or framegeneration. But it feels a thousand times smoother than having 80-90 with fsr 3.1

The FSR3.1 frame gen feels stuttery because the devs haven't implemented it properly. On my system, the VRR (gsync/freesync) does not work while the frame gen is enabled. I can check by enabling the on screen frequency display of my 165Hz monitor. The frequency stays at around 165Hz even when the frame rate of the game is at 80fps.

When I disable the frame gen via the console, the VRR starts working as normal with frequency matching the frame rate.
The devs seem incapable of fixing this issue. FSR3 FG works fine with VRR in every other game that has it.

since fsr3.1 got implemented i havnt seen any game running framegen properly. there all buged for me. litterly have to run the nvidia framegen with fsr3 mod for any game to run good
Yeah, but I bought the launch game and so far I can't play it properly. I don't know how much longer I have to wait, can someone help me?

Sure, it runs at 60-70 fps with all settings maxed out, but I want to play with frame generation at 100 or more.

RTX 4080 super
32 GB de RAM 2x16
Ryzen 7 9800x3d

Yes, I have to put 3 commands to remove everything and make it work without anything, full native resolution.

you can bug ark out so it runs framegen in the inventory(this is permanent not temp)on/off/on/off
i suggest you try bug it out as the game runs smoother when it doesnt disable there
you may get a few black flashes(only in the inv) but its better than the lag spikes

without frame generation, you should play it in low/mid to reach 60fps.
