i7-4790K at 85% sitting on beach Low settings
Trying to get back into ASA and have used a bunch of console commands to make it easier and high FPS. I have an RTX 4060 that is sitting at 14% usage while my CPU is struggling. Is there a setting somewhere that has it prioritizing CPU?

Lower resolution like 1080p will hit the CPU harder, higher resolution like 1440p will put more load on the GPU but to be honest a 4790k is kinda outdated at this point. I had one and while it was a great CPU in its day when i upgraded to a 12700k it was night and day difference.

That CPU is 11 years old, it's going to struggle on something as poorly optimised as this, in a demanding engine.

I had the same cpu but upgraded last year to 13700 and went from 3070 oc2 to 4070 ti super. The difference for both upgrades was huge. Mind I also have ddr5 ram and pcie5.0 motherboard with a Samsung 980 pro. I tried to hang on to my cpu but realised it was struggling, ended up replacing everything.
I think Unreal 5 has features that demolish CPUs like Lumen, Nanite etc. It's known to be super demanding and Ark isn't well optimized at all.

yeah that cpu is trash for almost any new game our just get an AMD X3D and your prob are solved obv a new mobo also.
That used to be a monster cpu, i had the 4660k oc'd to 3.8 easy, , but ur getting bottlenecked by the ram and the pcie2.0.... :(
amd 3000 and 5000 have quite decent prices if u want to upgrade with pcie 4.0 ull get more fps too.
