If you are on another persons server they could have disabled taming for that specific dino
You shouldn't have to if you've not altered the code. One other thing I can think of is if you've hit the dino cap for tamed creatures or the server cap. Do you have many dinos currently tamed?
It shows your current cap when you look in your inventory, in the middle of the screen under your name. I have a feeling though it may be mod related, specifically as someone else is reporting the issue and when a mod breaks for one person it breaks for everyone. Do you currently have any mods installed? Specifically any that affect taming, balance changes etc
I just tested single player to check if I could reproduce the issue but it wasn't appearing for me. This is a mod free (except for cosmetics) single player though.
It was a mod! i'd apparently added Paleo-Ark at some point to the server but it wasn't showing up in my installed Mods lists at all. Having now managed to locate and remove it, tames are back to normal!
I'm glad, I had a feeling it may have been that. Well done on figuring it out!
