- You can see dinos like the Argentavis flying in circles... literally in circles (I guess that's why they haven’t added the baby Argentavis and baby Snow Owls that were shown in the trailer)
- Alphas that don’t hit you even if they’re just a centimeter away
- bosses that don’t move
- water dinos that die when they leave the water… (should be impossible but still happening)
- New ones like the SIR-5RM8 robot are still doing weird things no one can explain
- Wild dinos don’t know how to jump, even if they can jump when tamed, which makes you practically immortal to 99% of everything in ARK if you reach a high enough vantage point
- Dinos like the Thyla or Purlovia, which jump only once to surprise you, can change gravity and physics mid-air, causing them to alter their trajectory while stepping on nothing but air
- Dinos like Alphas or special creatures like the Abominable Snowman can run straight into the water after you bc apparently they don’t need to breathe underwater
...and more...
It seems to have improved a little for land dinos, but not for flyers, water creatures, or machines
Esp. in the areas where it's "difficult" e.g. caves the pathing is still super horrible, probably even worse as in ASE.
It's also more creature specific now, i would say for smaller size creatures it could be a bit better, but tbh, they don't matter that much. For lots of medium sized dinos like sarco, bary, thyla it's much worse as it ever was in ASE.
When a group of them is following you underwater, as your protection. They will suddenly stop, and swim to the nearest New Rock, and jam their Head under them, getting stuck.
You will have to use your scanner to find them, and unstick them. It happens a lot, at Herbivore Island.
New Rocks... Rocks that ASA added to the game.
They will also get stuck under all the New Rocks, such as the Herbivore Island Cave. You will have to park them in the cave, one by one manually.
They will stop swimming suddenly, for a couple of Minutes. Whilst you wait for them to start working again, as Sharks chase you, as you circle them, waiting for their AI to start again.
===
Thyla ( Big Cats )... Not AI, but the April Fools Day Update 2024. It added an Invisible Force Field around Rafts, to stop you putting your Big Cats on them.
===
Mothers are like Lemmings...
Penguins will line up to die, thinking they can kill a Carno. When 1 of their Babies get killed, I've actually seen them lining up to attack Dino's.

This following behaviour is why I stopped playing the game over a year ago. Thanks for letting me know they haven't done anything about it. I guess it's a pretty safe bet that they never will.
but they will still get stuck and wont recover without my intervention.
devs are focused on adding wokeness rather than function.
Water creatures are the worst on follow.
f.e: Getting a flock of sharks to follow you is a nightmare. They're fine underwater but if they hit the surface even with their fin they get stuck there in some sort of raft mode and refuse to come back down. Had to mount them all individually to put them down under the water.
Gen1 Waterbiome + the missions there will be the most annoying thing to deal with.
Following of Land creatures seem to have brainworms from time to time. They will run ginormous circles around trees and rocks or back track kilometers just to go a tiny bit more lift/right if they don't get stuck on a pebble.
Armadoggos are incapible of getting up/down stairs that are one or two foundations wide but have no issues with spiral staircases...
Wild Managarmrs are a broken mess. I mean they kinda also were back in ASE after they got patched and nerfed a million times but now? They never stop jumping. If you want to tame one you have to pray that it gets stuck somewere.
Taming anything has never been that stressful, 'cause creatures avoid any kind of structure so badly that it becames frustrating to try and trap them. They even walk around beartraps as long as they're aggroed to you, if not they're happiely wander in but the window is too short to put gates around them.
Luckly it's very creature based but it takes a lot of trial and error to find right follow settings and creaturs.
The most annoying habit of flyers trying to land somewhere completely different than where you were hovering above still persists for example
