Ascended making whole computer lag
I'm running ascended on a brand new pc build with a 4080 super and 9800x3d. Whenever I'm in the main menu my pc runs just fine, but if I am loaded in on a map, even when paused, and I tab out to check something else it lags like crazy. I will do anything and there'll be a very noticeable delay of up to five seconds between when I do it and when it happens. This only happens when I'm loaded into a map, not in the main menu. If I return to the main menu after playing everything goes back to normal. Does anyone have a solution to this as I can't find anything anywhere.

you need 32GB RAM and 30GB pagefile

for framegen to work:
-FPS limit to half your monitor's refresh rate OR half your average FPS, whatever is LOWER
-vsync ON in-game only (not adaptive, not fastsync, not on your card drivers)
-DLSS Quality (really no need to use any other but quality)

that gets framegen working and doubles your FPS. your computer certainly has tons of crap running in the background you aren't keeping tabs on, like one driver, windows defender, antivirus, etc and if you're gonna try to game with all that crap happening, get used to stutters and poor performance because it's like trying to eat a cheeseburger while running a marathon

FrameGen is not a solution, its only a bandaid, they need to fix the game's performance issues.

shoot my computer when my game crashes cause my system to do a reset. annoying it like how to play asa? how much money must we waste to play this dumpster fire of a game? EA is a better company compare to wildcard now!

I forgot to mention also when I'm in game it runs fine with framegen, I can get over 60fps pretty easily. It's specifically when I tab out that the rest of the pc is extremely slow.

Without knowing what Steam detects as your system its like saying it hurts here over the phone to a doctor

Update to UE v5.5 is announced, just watch on YT.

It is kinda odd to see that I run a RTX 3080 with Ryzen 5900X and 64GB RAM and have 0 issues, while also often having Discord with Streaming running, as well as 2 ASA Map Servers and a Club ARK Server, and everything functions fine.
I also do not use DLSS (got no access to frame gen so) and run Native 1080p with med/high settings, yet my pc never slows down, despite being on pretty much 24/7.
I also have everything controlled by windows, when it comes to page file, and that is only like 4.5gb lol.

Check your Bios and make shure "above 4g decoding" is enabeld.
This switches your Pci-E from 32 to 64bit. If this Option is off the Bandwith
your GPU and all Pci-E Devices is halfed (could also affect Nvme Drives). If possible deactivate CSM, this helps a bit with latency.
Nvidia Systemsettings set low Latency Mode to ultra.

you're wrong which is why people like you are here asking stupid questions all day and people like me have computers that hit puberty before you did running modern games fine

the PROBLEM is FSR3 popped up in spring 2024 and was hastily implemented without proper instructions in basically any game. i've yet to see a game WITH it that even makes it apparent it exists, much less how to set it up. without the proper settings, it doesn't work at all (fps limit half of your refresh or render, whatever is lower/vsync on in-game/DLSS but not the native setting).

if 100% more frames for no cost while also reducing your computer's overall load (GPU and CPU) is a band-aid then the world needs more band-aids. FSR3 is "too good to be true" but actually is. it's why people pay for it in older games from guys like PureDark on patreon, makes a living creating FSR3 mods for old games so you can run skyrim with 5000+ mods

the problem people are running into that forced FSR3 to become necessary is how fast the GPU can process and it simply can't process fast enough to keep up, the BEST POSSIBLE RIG ON EARTH will drop frames in modern games like ASA and even on old games like turbo modded skyrim

you also don't know ANYTHING about optimization and you just parrot what someone else said, that's all you folks do, other than ask stupid questions on forums then ♥♥♥♥♥ about the answers.

Tried this but it's already enabled

I agree, but I think it still needs to be improved on. When I turn on dlss in ark it makes some things freak out. Specifically the glinting light textures for metals and snow/ice, it makes them flicker really fast and it looks really bad. Then again it could just be an ark thing

ark has a lot of problems, like foliage interaction shouldn't cost more than 3-5fps, it doesn't even apply to non-harvestable grass and this tech has been in games like World of Warcraft + thousands on a server at once for a decade, but the way the dinos interact with foliage is probably just a super janky H1B calculation, it's like how boeings used to not crash and now that the MCAS system has been coded by people making $9/hr, there were 18 major crashes of boeing planes in 2024 (boeing is laying off 10% of its work force by 1-20-25 and has $500 BILLION in lawsuits lined up against them this year but that doesn't include the 4 crashes the last week of december)

an old ♥♥♥♥ sapiens saying is "you get what you pay for" and if you pay people to work cheap, they're gonna do the best they can, not the best that can be done

so here we are, all systems failing as diversity rises. future is EXPLOSIVE
