why a 180gig download every update

Mines 4.5, but dl and install time are the same regardless of size. It's always 1 hr 15 - 1 hr 30.

I concur on the firing part. You would be better off just reinstalling it. It's what I do if it hangs up on me after the patch.

The problem is the game. I have a Samsung Evo 990 nvme and pretty beefy internet as well. I get the same problem.

Both games did this very same thing. download the patch and then hangs on the install.

I experienced the same issue. The store page says it only requires 70 gigs storage. But it wanted to download 200 gigs. I had to clear up space to get 266 gigs. Installed it and went to launch, it wants to download ANOTHER 200 gigs just to PATCH. I requested a refund and they gave it me.

Pretty common problem with developers who don't properly chunk their assets. Every texture update or minor data change and the users end up having to download gigabytes of unchanged assets. Pretty obnoxious when UE has so many patch optimization tools.
