Way to increase FPS?
I'm running an RX 7800XT and I'm only getting 40-60 FPS. I'm running it in 1440P. I know how to use the console to turn off fog and clouds, which helped (it was almost a slideshow before I did that). Anything else I can do? Thanks in advance.

Which map do you play. 60 fps at Scorched earth are something completely different as 60 fps on aberration.
Any expensive background programs running?
Drivers up to date?
SSD in ok state (not to old and with enough free space)?
Disable unimportant mods.

Helpful is always your full spec and as much info as possible about how you play.
E.g. singleplayer/multiplayer
moddedn/vanilla
old install (100 times updated) / fresh install
....

Always.

I'm not running it on an SSD. But that should only affect load times?
Disable unimportant mods.
No mods running.

Single player, local, fresh install.

AMD cards have issues with run UE5, all because ASA dont have support for AMD cards with FSR for now. There is only Nvidia DLSS in game, mayby they change this in future.

Unlike most other games SSDs DO affect performance on open world games like ARK. Sure the gpu is still the main factor, but SSDs have impact.
What settings do you play at?
AMD GPUs are weaker at raytracing as NVIDIAS and that's something you have to check. Probably mid settings at lightning and shadow need to be enough even with good AMD cards.

I have everything set to "medium" with the special lighting effects all off.

Probably post your full spec:
steam → help → systeminfo
and check your temps while playing.
also type
setcheatplayer true
To get additional infos like FPS before FSR3 upscaling and also your memory/gpu load.

I'm just looking for ways to increase my FPS. I turned off clouds and fog, any other quick tips?

Why spend money on new game, and then disable all good things what its offer. Dont understand this way of thinking. Better just back to ASE.

Well I just downloaded the last update, and performance got even worse. I may shelve this for a while, at least until they work on some optimization.

Because when one buys it, they don't know if all those beautiful features will actually work. In this case, they don't.

I have a 7700XT and it's run fine on medium with fluid and foliage interaction turned off, I don't ♥♥♥♥ with the settings that are locked behind console commands.
