Extinction map looks really bad... i don't want to play it . i feel so disappointed. it looks like they have bad artist now. The first three are on another level! the last two are very ugly

Back when I played official PVE, the biggest tribes would pillar off half of the map, and on the off-chance you found a spot to build a base, they would kite a titanosaur over to destroy it.

That's why flyer carry is disabled in official PVE btw, toxic tribes kept dropping hostile dinos into other players bases

Of courses there are toxic player in both community, the wyvern in my example mainly spawned cause to drops, and for it, it needed a player to activate it, Yet there is only one of the two community where you can have a good experience that's not about to try other players game and progress (I don't count in mixed server with both Pve and Pvp )

I spent month on evolved to breed and mutate my wyvern, I did spend month on ascend to mutate my wyvern, rex and theri for boss, that's a long but enjoyable work, and it's fun to make it on a server with a good community
That's why I play on a private server

As long as you're online and fighting, even if you're getting wiped, it's still 10 times more fun than playing PVE, where you fight poorly programmed creatures, with massive lag and live in bases that you run no risk of losing, hence diminishing its value substantially.

If you can't get through the lows, then you're obviously meant to play PVE. If you get wiped early, you're clearly are doing something wrong. Dust yourself off and try again.

"The thrill of not getting raided"
That statement makes no sense. You run around with a feeling of thrill when you're not fighting? People play PVP to raid and fight. Progressing is the most boring part of it. Too much progression is what makes half the servers empty.
I would be interested in PVP if the game did a good job of accommodating it, but it doesn't.
It's just too easy to destroy a base compared to how long it takes to build one, and exploits to spot people from across the map are too common.

I like the idea some private servers have where they're only PVP during certain hours out of the week to make sure everybody is actually online to fight eachother, and that bases can be built up long enough to actually make them worth raiding.
Likewise I've heard of the Primitive+ PVP servers on ASE where the lack of turrets and most explosives actually made raids interesting because defenders couldn't just put auto turrets everywhere and attackers actually had to breach a door instead of blasting down a whole wall.

As it stands now it's a choice between mindless PVP and low-risk PVE, I choose the low-risk PVE because I can make it interesting by avoiding playstyles that make it too easy, like using flyers for everything.

I like constant PVP. But, I agree with the rest. Primitive and Classic was the most fun I've had in ARK, it gets too much with all the Tek stuff. Now everyone in PVP is getting meshed left and right.
also disappointed in this new map.. the buildings are soooo awful bad looking. graphics in general is bad. i can't play for longer than 5min in this awful brown gold.. I prefer the old ark graphics on extinction.. please bring them back. or give a choice of old ark map or new ark map..
