1080p native, medium preset, 60-90 fps RTX 4080 Super/7800X3D. No frame graph to show how broken ASA is.
There's nothing going on. Lets add structures, dinos etc.
Lets go step further and use "recommended specs".
What kind of fps should we expect?
Turning on frame gen, DLSS doesn't mean "optimization".
And we were talking for optimization.
If you run at 1080p on 4080 super with 7800x3d and you are hitting 60fps(medium preset) while nothing is happening around you the game runs like az.

Anyone buying a computer based on recommended specs without researching performance and benchmarks beforehands are idiots anyway

So you are going to ignore everything I said?
The customer is at fault, because the game is not optimized and he should have done the research.
Reading recommended specs is not enough for you to make an informed decision if you should purchase the game or not?
What kind of research are we looking for?
When fanboys like your self would dismiss every valid criticism and claim the game runs fine gaslighting your average Andy.
Brother for god sake we still cant choose which maps we want installed with the game 17months after release. Let that sink in, on the plus side they keep pumping new paid "content" and pushing back the release dates on all ASE maps, so they can sell you more PAID CONTENT which you can PREORDER.

Blame everyone and everything else except the game it self and the devs.

Just like the other guy, you're gaslighting, pretending only people with ancient hardware have problems with this games performance.

This is the last performance test I made. Certainly wouldn't call it awful. Maybe you have to finetune some settings now and then but I don't have issues with Ark.
Runs better for me than for example Silent Hill 2

It's fine.

I can't decide if you're deficient, or malicious.

$1000 GPU at 1080p on an empty beach and you're going to pretend this is conclusive to game performance? (Also can't pay attention to the fact that many of those settings don't actually change until you goto main menu)

1. As others already wrote... it's wildcard ;-)
2. I don't know where this comes from here in the forum but the upgrade from 5.4 to 5.5 won't be the miracle many hope for (for performance, stabilty, bugs, and so on).
If you check the official dev notes from Epic about UE 5.5 you will notice that most of the notes are about things that don't affect ASA at all. The update is more important for projects earlier in development (e.g. due to upgraded pipelining) and integration options (e.g. with extended python support) and for movies.
Sure there are a few points they could use for ASA as well, but limited, and additional Wildcard don't need to use them just becaus they are there.

Your expectations about the upgrade should be realistic.

lol yuppppp, one of the major reasons alot of us even re purchased the same game was for this same map yet they keep it from us as long as possible and give us a couple of french fries while we wait

Allegedly, the 5.5 update is suppose to come with the obvious logic of not requiring people to download and update maps they're not actively playing..

Apparently you need UE 5.5 for you to have this advanced feature.
I heard it's releasing on April 1st.

lol, didn't mean to imply that. WC just said that is one of the things they're 'finally' doing and it happens to be tied to the same update they do 5.5. (If they ever do anything besides make more $$ dlc)

I know, it was sarcasm pointing out the incompetence of SWC. We had it in ASE on older version of UE, but having it on 5.0/2(or whatever they are running rn) is a no go, we need 5.5 to do it, like the biggest pile of bs i ever read.
There is no reason whatsoever for this not to be included since day 1.
