Continuous updates for ASA

Hello, this is probably a very familiar problem but I somehow can't find a right answer.

The problem:

Very often when Ark has a small update (for example 5GB) I have to repatch the whole 187GB, which makes the game big. This time it's only 166GB. Before it was quite strange. I mean Steam must have bugged somehow. I then searched the internet and emptied the download caache and had my one hard drive repaired by Steam. Now it works, but now takes 2 hours and that has happened to me several times that I had to repatch everything, I think now I even have to reinstall the whole game.

Is it possible to make any settings or prevent you from having to install/patch this large amount of data every few days?
