Is ASA Worth Buying?

ive played quite abit of ase and i've been waiting for this game to go on sale but I hear that it takes up to 500 GB to 1TB and there so many issue and people saying ase is just overall better. the maps look so much cooler alot of new creatures but idk I need help is it worth it when it's on sale?

Hello, I hope you are all well. I played both ARKs quite a bit, and the truth is that the old one is better. It works better, but it doesn't have online. This ARK, if bought cheap, is a good buy, but it will surely stress you out how badly it works. When it works, of course. Last week, none of the servers were working for a week.

With ~2000h in ASE and ~200h in ASA i would say it's not worth the upgrade.
Singleplayer and Coop-PVE only so no info about PVP quality.

1. The graphical upgrade, which is their primary selling point, is very situational. The island and SE look mostly better, but e.g. caves and aberration in general lost lots of their unique atmosphere.
Also the graphical upgrade is mostly about effects and textures, the animation quality is still at ASE level.
2. Many old ASE bugs still exist the exact same way we know them (so they copy pasted those code fragments simply from ASE to ASA) + new bugs.
3. Performance is mehhh (playing with both RTX 4070 & RTX 4080).

The good points like a few new creatures (most of them are balanced and fit their biom) and better building setup are nice, but not worth any upgrade.

Depending on the upcoming map quality (esp. Gen 1 & 2) i would say the upgrade is worth ~10€.

For new ark You need good pc config like 32 Gb ram, 12+ Gb videoram, 512+ ssd (ssd for ark) old ark need 430 Gb space.
so if Your pc don't have this, better not buy now
make upgrade first

I had never played ark before, so I got a trial to game pass to play them both before deciding. ASA has so many QOL updates and is much prettier. Even though I need to turn off fog and clouds, I decided to buy ASA on steam. I play single player though, I think PVP is P2W on ASA. It was just on sale a week or two ago? So just keep an eye on it, I think it's worth it on sale. Yeah it can be a buggy mess but I love it anyway (most of the time lol). My game was 200 GB when I bought it last month.

Absolutely NOT worth it, don't listen to the shills here. The game looks like crap, missing textures, floating unimmersive terrain, the clouds look horrible no matter what setting you have, and they won't be done for a while. Probably another year as they release 3 more maps this year which also won't be fixed. Anyone saying otherwise is in denial, just go look at the reviews and posts about alll the maps including the latest ones, it's all crap.

im good thanks hope your doin well, would you say it's worth $35 I see everyone in here saying its bad and not worth it but idk it just seems so tempting it looks fun more creatures and i have 1.5 TB so i will be able to hold it. I haven't experienced many bugs and issues with ase how bad are the bugs and if I was just looking for pve or coop pve would the game be worth purchising?

I appreciate the feedback, I have heard alot about the issues with ase and asa but I personally havent experienced that many bugs or issues with ase. So no matter what you dont think its worth buying the new animals and maps seem so much bigger its making me wanna buy it now that its on sale for $35 but idk im seeing alot of negative reviews saying ase better.

everyone seems to have alot of negative things to say about it but i overall think it looks fun even after playing ase more creatures and bigger maps and my ase is 250GB everyone recons theirs is 400+ i dont see how that happens but its on sale right now im thinking on buying but all these negative reviews got me questioning purchasing it what do you recon its worth the $35?

I have 16GB ram hopefully upgrading soon to 32GB i got a 3060 heard they run the game alright not to sure tho i have 1.5TB i got like 800gb free and will most likely delete ase if i get asa a lot of negative reviews but i overall dont see whats wrong with it. whats your thoughts its on sale right now is it worth the $35?

Would you say its worth $35 aud idk the exchange rate but theres a lot of negative reviews saying its not worth it and stuff like that my mate has it says its better that ase for pve which is what im most likely gonna play but yea as you are saying with the simular bugs i havent experienced many bugs with ase i just think i would have a bit of trouble running it well but im should be getting 32GB ram instead of 16 soon so it should help but what do you think?

id say get it. at the end of the day its your choice and i know youll have fun with it. im running on a 6750xt on medium settings 1080p and can manage to stay between 60-90 fps most times. the inventory menu drops my frames alot for some reason but not a game breaker.

Ark 1 does have online - I have just played it, works a treat.

as the ark god who played legit for many years as pvp and pve, i honestly wouldnt recommend the game unless its free, pvp aspect is completely pay too win which went the opposite of what devs wanted and refuse to go back to the orginial way, the whole team is nothing but corrupted and have no interested in their community only their pockets theres a reason why ark still ongoing ddoss attacked because of their corruption and not meeting there ends and continously release patches to break the game right before weekend(HUGE STUPID IDEA and its not just me who says this theres tons, should never release a patch or update on a weekend becasue too this day they are number 1 to release product that doesnt work because THEY DONT TEST IT at this point they should be paying their payers for doing there job for them but this is my accoutn of them like i said i love the game but had enough of their run around
