160gb of free disc space not enough to UPDATE

lol nice one, in addition the the 150gb this game takes up you need an additional what? like 300gb for it to update? thats soooo stupid

Ark SA is on a drive with 56GB free. It always updates. Sure when it's updating it stops on 2 or 6 percent or whatever, but just wait. It doesn't show actual progress, the progress freezes while it's updating. Just wait, go watch some tv and come back in half an hour. It will update even though it looks like it isn't.

wont do anything, Valve itself doesnt update it on their own game, so stop trying to tell this to everyone, its NOT enforced

mmm no, literally came back to "update failed not enough disk space" eventho ive got nearly enough to just delete and reinstall the game, which i shouldnt have TO DO FOR EVERY ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ UPDATE

ah yes im a slave because they dont tell me the game is that amount of size XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD cope, steam gives enough services to us for free as it is, if you feel like you are being abused, hurt or being taken advantage of (which i doubt since yk 20 years of steam service and i dont see you deleting your account) i would suggest you to just delete steam for your own safety. buy game, game is bigger than the game storepage says, dont like it, refund in the same 5 minutes

man these "woke" people i swear, its as simple as literally just booting the game, it is bigger than it says, and just refunding the game, the game was already over 100 gb on release and people should expect the game to increase in size of the span of years or months

Yeah it downloads the full update package, stores it, unzips it then deletes the download package, so yeah, so far 300gb... just wait untill all the DLC`s are available !!!!

Kind of. From what I understand it downloads the update, normally a small amount. Then has to unpack the entire game. The game is just one file, and not like most game where its separated into more files. So in order to actually put in the updates, it has to unpack the entire game, add the updated files, then repack it. Making it so you need pretty much the same amount of space the game takes up free so it can unpack itself. Really dumb either way and makes it so you need double the space the game requires. I know a lot of people that just delete and reinstall every update
