How do you take the yi-lings off
I know there is a command to do it
I just don't remember what it is

add this to your game.ini:
NPCReplacements=(FromClassName="YiLing_Character_BP_C",ToClassName="")

^ This removes wild Yi-Ling spawns

cheat destroywilddinoclasses YiLing_Character_BP_C 1

^ This deletes the wild ones after adding the .ini and restarting your game. To be clear, this only deletes WILD YiLings. I tested in SP and it should work as i had tamed and wild ones to make sure it worked as intended.

Let know if this works. You could also just do a general dino wipe after adding the game.ini and relaunching.

It Works just like Natchoboi said, the destroywilddinoclasses command is legit, it all works.

Make sure the game is shut down, check the Game.ini file properties, it should not be set to read only.
Make sure that the line in Game.ini goes under the header as below, these all work.

[/script/shootergame.shootergamemode]
NPCReplacements=(FromClassName="YiLing_Character_BP_C",ToClassName="")
NPCReplacements=(FromClassName="Pteroteuthis_Char_BP_Surface_C",ToClassName="")
NPCReplacements=(FromClassName="Pteroteuthis_Char_BP_C",ToClassName="")
NPCReplacements=(FromClassName="Purlovia_Character_BP_Aberrant_C",ToClassName="")
NPCReplacements=(FromClassName="JumpingSpider_Character_BP_C",ToClassName="")
NPCReplacements=(FromClassName="FireLion_Character_BP_C",ToClassName="")
NPCReplacements=(FromClassName="Xiphactinus_Character_BP_ASA_C",ToClassName="")

Yes! I forgot to mention where the NPCReplacements go, thanks! I'll try to remember that next time.

The specific dino wipe DOES work. I've tested multiple times on both SP and my private server. Just make sure you're adding the space and 1 ( 1) at the end as not having it wont allow the command to work. I can test it again later to see if anything changed since Ab's release, but i really doubt the yi-ling creature ID would have changed.

Here's the wiki for more info:
https://ark.wiki.gg/wiki/Console_commands#DestroyWildDinoClasses

EDIT: I checked the wiki and the BP path for Yi-ling is still the same.

I'll take a look when i get home from work. Not sure what the issue would be :\
Maybe I'm doing it wrong I probably am
And I thought the command would take them off permanently
But it doesn't

the command to wipe dino class is similar to destroywilddinos; but only for 1 dino type. The only way to stop them from spawning completely is via mod or adding the game.ini NPCReplacement.

Optionally, you could see if there's a mod that can do that for you
The only mod i could find quickly was the spawn blocker mod.

I saw a few people say it didnt work with Yi-Ling, but i am not 100% on that since I dont use it. Those were from when the mapped dropped as well so the issues could be fixed (didnt see patch notes addressing Yi-Ling for Spawn Blocker)
I tested the following:

1.) Adding the exclusion to game.ini. This is what it looked like at the top:

[/script/shootergame.shootergamemode]
NPCReplacements=(FromClassName="YiLing_Character_BP_C",ToClassName="")

2.) Launched Ark, then wiped dinos.
3.) Ran around for maybe 20 minutes, no Yi-Ling.
4.) closed Ark
5.) Removed exclusion from game.ini
6.) loaded Ark back up, wiped dinos.
7.) Ran around for around 2 minutes before running into Yi-Ling.
8.) Closed Ark
9.) Added exclusion back to game.ini
10.) Loaded back in, wiped dinos.
11.) Offed myself and waited 30 minutes on respawn screen
12.) Respawned and looked everywhere in green zone, no Yi-Ling.

* Thile i was testing, there was a section in the game.ini called [ShooterGameMode_TEMPOverrides]
That populated AFTER i loaded into SP. This looks like it's a sort of RAM for the game.ini that clears when the game is closed. Make sure you weren't adding it there (it'll be at the bottom)

The location of game.ini is located:
\ARK Survival Ascended\ShooterGame\Saved\Config\Windows

It could be a bug where the game.ini isn't being read. Something seems off if you're also having issues finding Ankys as well. Might be the local cave file for Ab? Unsure.

You put it at the very top of the file right

mine was at the bottom underneath my breeding settings. As long as under the [/script/shootergame.shootergamemode] it doesn't matter where specifically.

Just be 100% sure the game is fully closed out; or else it might revert the file.
For some reason I can never get that to work I couldn't ase either

1) What program are you using to edit the file?
2) If you right click on it and go to properties, what is the name of the file and what is the file extension?
3) Can you upload a screenshot of the file with it opened and the content that you added?

Some text editors like word may convert double quotes to left/right double quotes. Some will use incorrect encoding. Some will create split lines if you use word wrap. If you have file extensions hidden and try to save it as an .ini then you might end up with game.ini.ini. The above will indicate if there are any oddities.

Edit: 4) How many times does the following appear within the file:

[/script/shootergame.shootergamemode]
