Game won't even launch without installing Battleeye?!
Let's get the nitty gritty out of the way:
-Just got new PC, finally can run ASA. Excited
-Trying to launch the game to sort out mods, since there's no workshop anymore and from what I can tell mods are done via main menu in ASA now. Fine ok
-Game will not even boot at all without me agreeing to install the battleye bloatware, EVEN WHEN "launch without battleeye" is REPEATEDLY selected as the default option
-I play single-player PvE ONLY. I have NO want nor need for Battleye's bloatware bs on my brand new computer

The fact that you can't even boot the damn game without installing bloatware you don't even NEED to play SINGLE PLAYER LOCAL is absolute nonsense and I'm about to toss my keyboard out a window, PLEASE help, I am NOT installing a program I straight up do not NEED just to boot up the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game

The only way to start it that I know off without Battleeye is to launch it from steam
you disabled the battle eye service. need to reenable it

I've tried that one, even that doesn't work which is confusing the hell out of me, I tried rebooting both steam AND the PC too but it still demanded I install Battleye before it would even boot

I'm gonna sound like a complete idiot here, but where/how would I find that option? xD I spent a significant portion of time yesterday trying to Google this issue before making this to no avail. Also not sure if it makes a difference but this is legit a fresh install, like the entire PC is 2 weeks old fresh install, and I haven't touched ASA at all til last night since downloading/installing it so I'm not sure like...how, I could have disabled it? Not that I'm doubting the answer just, genuinely not sure where the option is and/or how I ended up unticking it or what have you

BattleEye is not bloatware. It is designed to minimize its impact on system performance and to respect users' privacy by focusing specifically on cheat detection. Either way I hope you find a fix to your problem as you are correct in not needing it for SP.
start menu> services> battle eye> set to automatic
most people when debloating a new pc disable services to speed gaming machines up
thats my best guess
if you "del /q "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\BattlEye\BEService.exe""
and battle eye installs and ark boots correct then i can guarantee you have disabled the service

Yep, Crowbar is correct! It might not be "bloatware" in the traditional sense of the word but for someone only interested in SP, it's extra RAM/bandwidth dedicated to a program I legit don't need because....how am I gonna cheat/bother other players in single player mode? LOL

That helped a ton, think I got it working nice and good now, cheers y'all! :D
