first time playing ark and theres legit no tutorial? no nothing? ive spent 2 hours gathering resources and have no idea what to do wtf is this ? lmao

I used to watch Nooblets on youtube for tutorial or taming stuff
But you could just search for the things you are currently occupied with and read a bit about it and then try it yourself
For example on the wiki you can read about each creature or dino and find out what they're good for and how hard it is to get them

Thats makes ARK amazing. It contains a lot of content, so even after years of playing you can find something new :)

What to do is "surviving". Each level lets you unlock engrams which will help you in that. Use the resources to build a base which protects you, then improve them with better materials. Tame dinos to survive longer.

You can do whatever you want, e.g. building a nice base, or taming thousands of dinos (ok, this was an exaggeration), or simply explore the world and take nice screenshot from them. Some players focus on mating and breeding the dinos to get the best stats on them for boss fights.

While travelling through the map you will find explorer notes which explain the background of the game and give descriptions of the dinosaurs. Collect them all to find out why you are in this world.

You will die a lot, so be prepared not to give up. The game has a learning curve, and you will soon either throw the computer out of the window (hint: open the window first) or maybe even become addicted to this game.

I also recommend dododex, it has really very good infos about which materials you need to tame which dinos. Use your webbrowser to search for it.

EDIT: One important thing: If you ever join a server (official or not) make notes about the server name or number!! Each update of the game will remove the "favourite" mark and you will have to search for this server manually.

Lol, i spend 2 weeks to find one particular dino + 1 month to build mobile base so i could find that dino in comfort :)

Your goal is to tame good enough tames to kill bosses at max difficulty. Other than that it's up to you how to get there.

Explore, tame, kill, loot, build & breed.

Unlock new engrams, find what you think is useful in them and start building.

Explore ini files and lower bosses attacks, get rid of pyromanes, its a kind of quest too!
