Why are the DLC maps not downloaded separately
The game is already 155GB just with The Center, Scorched Earth and Aberration and it's just going to keep getting bigger and it's stupid. Make the DLC maps actually tied to the DLC licence so that we can choose which parts to download to save space and lower download times.

manage my dlc option of the right of the ark page just under the achievements section. checking them off should remove the map on the next update or when you verify files.

It doesn't, that's why I made this post in the first place.
All of the maps are just part of the main game, the DLCs actually have nothing in them.

Shared Assets (assets takes space, map without assets will be few mb's in size), less 'not found' conflicts, i guess. And, well, its WC - thank god maps at least works.

The map by itself is definitely not just "a few mb," the map data is what makes up the majority of the download.
It's very easy to just separate the actual map itself from assets that are used on other maps and the creatures/items, they did it with ASE so there's no excuse for them not doing it with ASA too.

You will need a 1 terrabyte drive just for Ark alone after all maps are released if they dont simply fix this unacceptable nonsense.

You should report the game to steam, because their store page is lying and possibly losing people money.

"70GB required free space" is a lie. You currently are required to have more than 300GB free space just for Ark to be able to play and then update itself.

After all maps are released the game would be more than 500GB and then you need another 500GB free space to update it.

1. Can you not read properly? It's not 500GB, It's 1 terrabyte.

2. Why not put that on the steam store page: "Just buy another 1 terrabyte drive just for our game, what are you poor, lol?" cause you know people act like trash until its something that affects them then they cry, exactly the same as you would.

3. Should probably include that in the game price tag also huh? It should say, game is $60 + the cost of another 1TB hard drive.

Dont really care 500 or 1tb actually, agree.
So let's assume that we survived the Stone Age. Not all of us, but..
Ok, if you're still (for whatever reason) using a bone abacus instead of a pc there's always ASE waiting for ya. All your cries that somewhere under the game it says that there should be 70gb, and then a whole universe of data turns out to be needed, well, just like the cry of a child - without meaning and mercy, terrible. Tragedy. By your logic, all games must be crap until you can buy yourself a modern hardware?

Why are u such an a**hole about this? 1TB is still a lot, considering u might also wanna play other games that need a lot of space. Being forced to download all DLCs even tho you only focus on one map mostly, is just not cool. Don't you get his point? Even if you don't or might think differently, be a decent human.

so we're not talking about DLC, he's whining that on Steam on the game page it says that it should take up 70gb. And God bless him, he wrote in support of Steam and that’s it, but he have to whine about it on every page. During this time, he could earn money for a new drive)))
I have nothing against the fact that if there is technically no reason for it, then there is no point in downloading unused DLC and it is not right.

p.s.
Let me be an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Afterall I'm the one who stole all the honey on Abberation :)
