Page Fault in Non-Paged Area
Whenever i open the game, it makes my computer blue screen with the error message "page fault in non-paged area" this only occurs when i open ark, not any other game. I have a RTX 4060, Ryzen 7 9700x, and 32 gb of ram running at 6000mhz. No screen pops up whenever I start it either, i click play and 10 seconds later my computer is restarting. Please help and let me know if theres any other info you need. :er_heart:

Edit: This issue also occurs with survival evolved so its possibly an issue with the anti-cheat?

I was having a similar issue. It wasnt all the time, but frequent enough. Mine turned out to be a failing cpu. I would suggest checking both cpu and ram as it could be either of those things

what did you end up doing to fix it? this is a month old computer so im hoping its not a broken chip or something like that

For me I had to replace my cpu. It got degraded by bad bios. But it was replaced via RMA. I would start by removing all your ram except for one stick. Keep swapping through one stick at a time.

If they all do the same thing, its not the ram and maybe time to look at the cpu. Only one of them throws errors, then its a bad stick and contact the manufacturer for RMA replacement.

Sounds like a RAM issue to me, you could try going into your bios and setting it to default. leave xmp or expo off, save settings and exit then try to run the game if this works then its just a matter of trouble shooting probably ram voltages or the vtt voltage, you could youtube setting stuff like this up just to help you get your head around it, personally if i run my 64gb of ram at 6000 which is is meant to do, going off how the oc profile sets it does not make my ram stable, all hardware has its perks and faults its just a matter of figuring it out and always worth learning being a gamer.

Don't assume something is broken it just might need a tweak here and there.

Also always make sure your chipset and graphic drivers are up to date.

Good luck.

I didnt have any xmp nor expo on and i have all the latest drivers so i dont think it could be that. I also tried doing what the user above you said and the issue still persisted. a odd thing that occurred though is the first stick of ram didnt work in one of the ram slots on the mb, but did in the other. the second stick worked in both so it is possibly something to do with how the first stick acts with that slot? Ive heard it could also be cpu related so ill try to test something to do with that.

thank you for the ideas

I FIGURED IT OUT. it was the BattleEye AntiCheat that was causing the issue. I havent figured out a solution just yet but i will update if i do:steamhappy:

So long as you're not trying to connect to Official Servers, BattleEye is not needed to play ASA (or ASE for that matter). Just start ASA WITHOUT loading BE and it should work correctly. BE is ONLY needed if you want to connect to Official Servers.

You may also find that the game works faster and is more stable without BE interfering.

As long as you don't play on official servers you can disable battleeye from the steam library list. Right-click on ASA--->Properties and under the drop down launch option choose Play Ark: disable battleeye anticheat. unofficial servers only.

Battleeye is so out of date that it's still trying to scan for cheaty programs running inside protected memory addresses that are now reserved only for operating system and hardware level stuff. The last 3, maybe 4 generations of processors and motherboards haven't allowed any access to protected areas like that.
