My RX 7600 8Gb can play Ascended with everything on low except for:
View distance (High), shadows (medium), global illumination (High), and everything else on low or off at 1080p.
I get around 45 fps though.
The general differences between both games are minimal and even the most important one (the graphics upgrade) doesn't apply to anything while playing at high/ultra.
So if you already know you can just run it at medium or lower i don't see any point in buying it tbh.
Esp. as ASE looks better on low end computers with more mods and more stable.
Note that the official minimum hardware for UE5 (info directly taken from Epic) is a 1080. If your gpu is below 1080 you should think twice about purchasing the game/software.
maybe when the performance update goes live u might have a decent chance but tbh i wouldnt count on it running smooth but i recon it will just about play with a fresh wipe of windows to.
Especially if you have an MSI one since they only have 3.5GB of Vram.
Stick with ASE. It's more feature complete and has better mods.
